After-work tour. There are a total of 4 miniature castles in Osthofen. (The name Weinbergshäuschen doesn't really fit if you take a closer look at the buildings.) All have in common that they were built by wealthy winegrowers in the late 19th century. I had already visited the other two "mini castles", the red and the white house, in October 2019, so it was my turn today.
Closing time. The area between the B 9 and the Rhine - roughly from the height of Worms Airport to the A 6 crossing - has always felt like peaceful no man's land. You won't meet crowds of people on foot here, just near the sandbar or the ramps. The variety of butterflies on the dam and later on the Rhine, the countless different snail species, was particularly admirable.
Through Andreas I found out about this forest educational trail that I really liked - thank you! Of course I had to go to the idyllic castle park nearby. The castle itself is one of the most outstanding empire castles in Rhineland-Palatinate and the associated park is very idyllic and contains a number of photo opportunities. It is easy to imagine how couples walk arm in arm with a parasol.
Fascinating after-work tour:
Stones from 30 million year old sea sand that has solidified together with oysters, a former beach slope (Trift) in which the fossil manatee Spuren and traces of rays were found, former surf coast with oyster bank (Zeilstück). Today's motorway bridge roughly shows the sea level at that time. On the panorama pictures you can see that it is a kind of pool, and that is exactly what it was. Mind you, 30 million years ago. Wow.
In the district of Dittelsheim there is one of the 4 Rhenish Hessian tower churches and you are quickly on the Kloppberg, from which you can enjoy wonderful views in all possible directions. It is relatively easy to keep your distance in the Rheinhessen hills. Mostly you can see wine growing, but also fields and very rarely even small tree collections. Today's excursion partially overlapped with the Jakobsweg and the BohnErzWeg (wonnegau.de).
The inspiration for murder started in Essenheim in January. At that time Danny B recommended a French telegraph station from Napoleon's times, then I happened to find the Pfauengrund, a highlight from the Hirschis, and on reinhessen.de the Selz-Terroir-Route 2 matching it. This would be the 11000 Mägde- and Hiebergturm , plus the Selz, a classicist vineyard cottage and the early baroque painter Adam Elsheimer also covered.
After-work tour in the nature reserve "Eich-Gimbsheimer Altrhein"The almost 6 km long circular route in the lake landscape offers special flora and fauna as well as mostly nature trails. Almost no one was out, everything was peaceful and quiet, except for the twittering of birds. The panorama shots convey this feeling, I think 🙏The boards with explanations along the Altrhein adventure trail are interesting and entertaining; Nature and jetties in various "quality levels" very wonderful photo motifs 👍🏼
Feierabend Tour.Evidence shows that viticulture has been practiced in Gundersheim since 769.As a very personable winemaker said, the Donnersberg has two special influences on its surroundings: it divides the rain and - in the event of a hell fire - mostly keeps storms away.
Do you know that You are happy and content, and suddenly something shoots into your head and you cannot get rid of it. Regardless of whether it makes sense or not. This is exactly how it was this morning:Oh peaceful morning
Oh glittery dew
What sights you behold
How precious are you
😂🤣😂In this sense everyone had a wonderful weekend 😉
