Das Streckennetz der 20 grünen Hauptwege nutzt die grünen Korridore der Großstadt. Sie sind ideal geeignet, um Berlin besser kennen zu lernen und man wundert sich, wie viele grüne Wege sich auch durch die Wohnviertel schlängeln. Das Netz der grünen Hauptwege beträgt insgesamt ca. 573 km. Die einzelnen Wege haben eine Länge zwischen 7 und 64 km. Die grünen Hauptwege sind mit einem blauen Querbalken auf weißem Quadrat und der jeweiligen Wegnummer markiert.
