Münster und Umgebung

An entertaining and varied bike tour around Warendorf. There is a lot to see and something to try every now and then.

The basis of the route comes from the book: Cycling for the soul.

This round is a combination of the two previous rounds. The goal was to drive a relaxing lap on many green paths. To explore the beautiful side of Münster's north, so to speak. There are many ways to take a break. It was fun to ride my bike again.

A bike tour in the city of Münster, with a coffee break and a walk through the botanical garden.

This round was especially aimed at enjoying blueberry pancakes on the farm where the blueberries grow, i.e. on the Wassermann farm. On the way back, the Hof zur Linde was in Handorf. On mostly green paths a bit around and through Münster.

The forest chapel near Reken was particularly beautiful. But it was also worth visiting Velen Castle, the two castles in Ramsdorf and Gemen, and the church in Ramsdorf.

We mostly curved around the buildings.

After a break in Velen I forgot to continue the recording. Hence the solid line for a section.

The path leads over the Gasselstiege, the mill in Hansell over mostly very beautiful paths to the Westeroder See and finally to a break on the market square in Greven.

From there it goes through the Rieselfelder back to the starting point at the Münster Zentrum-Nord train station.

On beautiful paths from farm to farm. Gut Kinderhaus, Baker's asparagus and Erbeerhof, Hof Lütke-Laxen. So we enjoyed the asparagus season that ended.

Finally, a round through the Speicherstadt.

On beautiful paths through the Münsterland. On the first 20 kilometers I met more riders than cyclists.

For the further kilometers, water was the accompanying element.

I got this tour from the book 'Radeln für die Seele'. The gpx tracks for the tours in the book are freely accessible to everyone on the Internet.

The bike tour was really nice.

This lap is easy and nice to drive.

There are several highlights to be found in Havixbeck. The Havixbeck house, an imposing house that is inhabited and can only be viewed from the fence; the Baumberger sandstone museum with the recommendable Cafe Arte; and house stacks, which is also inhabited.

Münster is beautiful. It is a pleasure to cycle here.

On this lap, encouraged by Udo and Ulrike, you rarely drive next to busy roads. In the Wolbeck Zoo, it is best to stay on the main paths during or after rainy days. Otherwise you will sink into mud and puddles.
