Cape Wrath Fellowship

An estimated 2,000 cyclists have joined the Cape Wrath Fellowship since it was founded in 1949 by Rex 'Ragged Staff' Coley. Over 70 years since the Fellowship began, national charity Cycling UK is responsible for keeping the record of the Fellowship and welcoming new members to its fold. In theory it's easy to join the Cape Wrath Fellowship - you just need to cycle to the lighthouse stuck on Scottish mainland's most northwesterly point. But in practice it is far more difficult - rough seas can prevent ferry crossings for days (and it's closed in the winter)...and at times the vast barren landscape is also a firing range which means it's also closed.But make it there and back, and you're eligible to join the Cape Wrath Fellowship: cyclinguk.org/capewrath
