The 18-meter-high German Wine Gate is built in the neoclassical style. The hipped roof carries two poppy capsules of copper, which symbolize everlasting prosperity. The Weintor dates back to the time of National Socialism. The building was decorated during the Nazi era with a huge swastika flag, which was also seen in France, where it was perceived as a provocation. On the upper right side of the south side was the almost four-meter-high stone relief of an imperial eagle with a swastika in its claws. After the end of the World War, the swastika was cut off. Today the wine gate is also called "the house of the German wine route".

Planned in early 1936 and built in just 8 weeks. It was during the Nazi era with an oversized. decorated provocative swastika in the direction of France.
After WWII, stone Nazi symbols were knocked out.
The "Wine Walk Of Fame" has started here since 2012 (see metal plates in the floor).
