The rest area with the apt name "Schöne Aussicht" offers just that.
There is a meadow for a picnic, but also some seating.

This view of the Eifel on the "Simonsley" (415 meters above sea level) offers an impressive panorama above the Rursee in south-east to south-west direction, whereby the "Kermeter", a core area of the Eifel National Park, attracts attention.
Iron ore was mined on the "Simonsley" until the 19th century. The founder of the ironworks in Simonskall, Simon Kremer, had mining rights in the 17th century and operated an iron ore mine, so that the name "Simonsley" (Ley = rock) still refers to it today. In addition, there are former tunnels and pings (mounds of earth with depressions) that indicate that there is a lot of excavation.

[The "Eifel view" competes with the "Hubertushöhe" viewpoint just a few hundred meters away]
