Nord-Ost-Ufer Altmühlsee

Northwest of Gunzenhausen waiting carefree swimming pleasure and a variety of recreational opportunities. Sandy beaches and long lawns line the banks of the Altmühlsee.

Although it is a very nice bike path, but carefree swimming pleasure I would not say. Poor water quality and blue-green algae.

The well-developed bike path takes you on smooth asphalt from the upper end of the lake past the bird sanctuary shallow water and island zone in Altmühlsee down to Gunzenhausen.

For the most part, the cycle and footpaths are separate, so the section becomes the race track with a view of the lake. Careful, in the meantime you drive past the food stall and the boat rental - this could be one or the other in front of the bike!

There is a lot going on on nice days, so always stay on the brake levers. Otherwise nice asphalt to board :)
