Every visitor to Sylt should have seen this place once. A little apart you will find huge, deserted beaches. Here is the point where the open sea and the Wadden Sea meet. You shouldn't take a bath here, however, as whirlpools and strong currents arise!

The elbow (Sölring: Alembög) is the northernmost part of the North Frisian island of Sylt, which belongs to Schleswig-Holstein. Here is also the northernmost country office in Germany.
The elbow is the northernmost part of Sylt, north of List, the northernmost town in Germany. It extends into the North Sea as a 330 to 1200 meter (m) wide and elongated peninsula. The Danish neighboring island of Rømø is just 4 km northeast of the elbow beyond Lister Tief.

It is the northernmost point of the island, offering space, wind and waves as well as a beautiful view of Rømo. In addition, the view to the west into the open, sometimes stormy sea, as well as the view to the east towards the mainland with rather calm sea and Wadden Sea
