Salt production in Halle dates back to the Bronze Age. In the preserved buildings, the working method for extracting the salt is shown in the museum. Festival festivals take place here every year. The origins of the buildings go back to the years 1719-1721. The small narrow-gauge railway next to the museum brought the required brown coal to the boil in the factory.

The Saline Museum is one of the main sights of Halle.
The Halloren, a group of salt miners, are at home in the saltworks.
The Royal Prussian Saltworks was erected on the site of today's Technical Halloren and Saline Museum between 1719 and 1721, of which a few buildings still exist today. The extension buildings built around 1930 have also been preserved. Salt was extracted there until 1964 and the museum opened in 1967.
