The victory column with the golden sculpture, also affectionately called "Goldelse", is undoubtedly one of the most famous landmarks of Berlin. If you take the trouble to climb, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Tiergarten from the viewing platform.

First around it for a few photos! A large multi-lane roundabout denies direct access to the column, but signposted the underground access via a few stairs and a pedestrian tunnel.
If you go there around the pillar, you are astonished at the number of bullet holes - the war has left a few small wounds here!
The column itself offers an exhibition of well-known buildings in Germany & the world and a view over the main base and from the top!
The climb is via a staircase (about 290 narrow steps!), But afterwards you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view!

One of the landmarks of Berlin that you must have seen. Even if the Victory Column is disrespected by the Berliners as Goldelse.

Great! Just a few weeks after the coming of the new mobility law in Berlin, noticeable improvements are noticeable for cyclists on Berlin's streets. Except for really bad weather, there are no excuses, instead of taking the car off the bike. 😃

Probably Berlin's best-known and largest roundabout with the victory column in the middle. Every year the bike star trip ends here, highly recommended. Traditionally, several laps are driven through the roundabout, when you arrive here, it's always fun every year.

The Victory Column on the Great Star in the Great Tiergarten is one of the most important sights in Berlin and the most important national monuments in Germany. Originally built on Königsplatz by Heinrich Strack in the years 1864–1873 to commemorate the Wars of Unification, it was moved to its current location in 1938–1939 together with the monuments to Bismarck, Roons and Moltke. The crowning Victoria by Friedrich Drake is called "Goldelse" in the Berlin vernacular.see also:
