Very nice park. In some rooms there is a restaurant. From 11 o'clock. In addition, the museum houses a collection of paintings by the painter Otto Knöpfer. Many benches to stay in the park.

On the site of today's castle was a moated castle in the upper village left of the church since the 16th century. In 1114, Lords of Molsdorf are mentioned in a document. Later, the Lords of Witzleben and Thüna owned the Wasserburg (Dietrich von Witzleben, 1432, Heinrich von Witzleben, 1450, Ernst von Witzleben, 1530). In 1616, the town and castle temporarily came into the possession of those of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, then Count Günther von Schwarzburg-Arnstadt (Wikipedia).
The back of the castle, is well worth seeing.

The baroque castle Molsdorf from the 18th century. is located in a beautiful little park with lots of trees and a pond that invites you to rest and relax.
This year the facility is one of the 25 external locations of the BUGA 2021 in Erfurt.
The restaurant was not recommended, the dishes were carelessly arranged and there were only cheap plastic flowers (daffodils in July !!!) on the tables.
But it has been closed for a long time.
A new park cafe is planned, but not yet opened due to "Corona".
The castle itself is in great need of renovation.

Count Gustav Adolf von Gotter had transformed the former moated castle into a picturesque baroque pleasure palace. But the extravagance of the diplomatic climber ruined the dream and Gotter had to sell the castle.
Today you can visit the museum in the castle with its historical rooms and special exhibitions as part of a guided tour. The symmetrical baroque garden from Gotter's time was later transformed into a landscape park. Some sculptures from the original furnishings have been preserved.
Note: The bike must be pushed in the park. The park is freely accessible. There is also a coffee and cake cart and ice cream counter.
The opening times of the castle are (as of 2021):
    12 January 2021 to 30 December - 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
    December 24th, December 31st closed
    25.12., 01.01 .: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. open
