From the top you have on the sculpture wind sound a great view of the Hunsrück to the Eifel. On the plateau is also a wooden observation tower, from which you can look over the southern part of the national park to the Saarland (in clear weather, for example, the foam mountain is clearly visible). There are two premium routes to choose from, the Cloef-Pfad dream loop and the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig leg 10.

The Erbeskopf is a mountain in the Hunsrück range in central Germany. At a height of 816 metres (2,677 ft), it is the highest point in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as the highest point of German territory on the western bank of the Rhine. It lies within the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park.

In 2011, as part of the redesign of the Erbeskopf, a number of sculptures were set up alongside Christoph Mancke's "Windklang" observation platform.
    Clockwise from the observation tower:
Bodo Korsig "State of Mind", 6 meter high steel sculpture
Martin Schöneich "Dialog", 2 steel sculptures
Angelika Summa "undergrowth", round steel 2.2m high
Willi Bauer "Large Wing", granite 2.60 m high
Winnie Schaak "Won Tong", Corten steel 250m high

A 16.50 m high sculpture made of larch wood with an interesting name (wind sound), which can be crossed, is part of a viewing platform on the 816 m high Erbeskopf. From here you can let your gaze wander far into the distance.

In 2011 the summit plateau was extensively redesigned. Since then, the eye-catcher has been the walk-in sculpture named Windklang 816M by sculptor Christoph Mancke. Depending on the weather, the sculpture has its own sound. Nature is the orchestra here and makes the wind sound. Incidentally, you also have a great view from the sound of the wind.

Exciting view from a walk-in artwork called "Windklang".
The different perceptions of the complex shape are reminiscent of M.C. Escher.
Definitely a great view from Erbeskopf!

The highest mountain in the Hunsrück! 816 m
In winter you can - if it runs well, also ski. In the summer, the slopes look like too-large power lanes and the direct ascent is a great workout for the calves :)
