From the end of April to the beginning of May, a special gift from the Japanese to the reunified Germany blooms here. Hundreds of ornamental cherries transform the former death strip of the Berlin Wall into a sea of pink flowers.

On the meadow bank there is a beautiful memorial stone and other cherry blossoms, which tells the origin of these cherry blossom trees in Berlin:

Really unique. Many park benches to linger. But also worthwhile as a small destination for hiking and cycling.

As a beginner, this was a tour to be mastered with well-developed paths and beautiful, varied panoramas. The Wall Trail is well signposted

A documentary about the Berlin Wall, the people of Berlin and the 1989 Mauerfall was shown by a Japanese TV station in early 1990's. So many people were moved by it that they raised money to commission the planting of a large number of April/May flowering 'Sakura' trees along the route of the 'death strip'. There is more than one site, and many people visit the Bosebrucke planting on Bornholmer Strasse.

Late April to Mid May. Expect many Japanese tourists amongst the other instagrammers and nature lovers, the Sakura is a very big deal. It is truly spectacular in such large numbers.

An experience at the end of April and beginning of May when the cherry blossoms. Great opportunity to take a little break! You can have a picnic under the trees!

Due to the cool temperatures, the cherry blossoms are still a long time coming. On May 2nd, 2021 (cool and humid) there were still a lot of walkers on the way. When the weather gets better and the trees are in full bloom, it will be very crowded!
