In Hückeswagen the Bevertalsperre is idyllically embedded in the Bergisches landscape. Today it largely serves the purpose of low water elevation and the flood protection of the Wupper. It is very popular among water sports enthusiasts and invites you to swim in numerous small bays, official bathing areas with snack and toilets are located at the "angry ant", at campsite I and II and the Käfernberg.
Guided tours of the dam are also available by appointment (usually Mondays - Thursdays between 9am - 2pm). A diving school, boat rental and a school for pleasure boaters, as well as several hiking trails complete the leisure offer.
