From Mahlenzien we hiked a little to the east and then on a marked hiking trail (red line) to the north to the nature reserve Gränert, a very varied landscape with hills and valleys, moors and rivers. At the beginning of the NSG we made a short detour to the Silberquelle, which was taken in 1905, but is unfortunately dry today. We continued on beautiful paths through the thieves' ground, which is so called because, according to legend, a robber chief named Habakuk Schmauch is said to have lived here more than 600 years ago, he is even said to have kidnapped the daughter of a Brandenburg councilor. On the RE 1 route we first hiked west to the Faulen See, which was originally just a clay cast and has been enlarged considerably by beaver dams. Many tree stumps in the water create a somewhat eerie atmosphere. We hiked back and a bit parallel to the railway line, then we followed the path to the Buckau Bridge. We followed the beautiful hiking trail parallel to the Buckau to the Neue Mühle. This includes a fenced fishing park, which we bypassed at a distance, after which we came across the Buckau again. At another fenced pond we went right into the forest and shortly afterwards to the left, we reached Mahlenzien via forest paths. (The "dent" in the recording was a futile attempt to hike again on the Buckau.) In Mahlenzien there is a field stone church from the 13th century with a half-timbered tower from 1729, to the west of which is the manor house built around 1800. A little to the south is the "Motte von Mahlenzien", the stables of a late medieval hilltop castle. All in all, it was a varied tour that we really enjoyed.
The alternation of blue and gray skies brings varied impressions. Some pictures look almost like black and white shots through the gray sky, just a little shimmer of blue proves the opposite. I like it. 👍🏻

Thank you Cori!
Nice tour with nice pictures! There is probably so much silver lying across the silver source that everything is clogged 😅
Thank you, Heiner! Oh man, we would have had to dig, at the silver prices at the moment ...
You don't have what 🙄
I like that you immortalized the weather on this stormy day with a dramatic (cover) picture.
