From Parker Canyon Lake it is only a few kilometers to the canyon of the same name. The babbling of the small brook, which can be heard from far away, triggers relief in me. In this harsh landscape, a stream can dry up within a few days. Water is an absolutely scarce resource in Arizona. A look at the digital map shows me where the next possible water source is. But that doesn't matter for today, because today I sleep right next to the stream. A little campfire later I'm already lying around my sleeping bag at 9 p.m. Hikers Midnight!I start the next morning with three liters of freshly filtered stream water. After the strenuous ascent from the first day, it should be relaxed today. Nevertheless, the trail sucks. Up and down through the stony hills. The Canelo Hills keep making me gasp. The mountains in the distance rise like islands from the sea. They are affectionately called Sky Islands. I will climb many of them in the next few days!
