Now I'm thinking of how I can do it as a day trip from Nordheide ... will probably have to get on the train in Bremen for the second half of the season.

From the Nordheide it is really quite a lot if you want to do the Bremen-Bremerhaven-Bremen tour on the Weser. I don't think I would do that to myself in full either.
