After yesterday I had made the last changes to the routes of the rally, which I present for the ADFC on the web (weisweber.de/ADFC/Sternfahrt/2021/Routen.html), I decided for Today route 4 (from Frohnau) was chosen to ride myself. To do this, I rode my bike from Rummelsburg to the Frohnau S-Bahn station

You must have driven an incredible amount. I bow very low

I haven't calculated it exactly yet, but I've ridden about 27,000 km with the touring bike.

I also know braked rims. The reason was the use of the bike in both summer and winter. I was lucky because the brake block got stuck in the rim. Nothing happens except the walk home.

I can no longer understand the mileage.

    Have a nice remaining weekend.

@ Bucky: Thank you very much 😊 I was like you. I was cycling all year round and luckily, apart from the short walk from the Großer Stern to the Brandenburg Gate, this had no further consequences. I can imagine that the road salt also gave the rims a lot of trouble in winter. In any case, the salt practically

@Napalm Death 🤘 & 🐾: That would have been missing and could actually have happened, because the upper part of the rim has peeled off about a quarter of the circumference and got caught in the brake levers. I had to bend everything back to push it. I am happy to support the ADFC cycling demonstrations

    Eventful day!

According to the description of the material failure, I seem to be well served with my mechanical disc brakes (1st generation), even if the bike mechanics are groaning now ... my bike is from March 2003 and has now 37,500 km away, as there was still a second bike until 2015 😊🍀🙋🏻‍♀️

I am glad that nothing happened to you. 27k is huge. Hats off, Wilhelm!

@Silentstarlight: Thank you very much 😊 That was actually an eventful day. I've learned a lot in the course of using the bike. The rim brake system and the chain have led to a relatively high level of maintenance, because they are subject to high levels of wear and tear during high driving performance

@ Lutz: Thank you very much 😊 After looking closely at the damage, I am also glad that I got away with it without falling or injuries. But I was really shocked when the hose really burst in the middle of the Big Star with a loud bang and it felt like everyone was staring at me.

27k km are already an announcement for sustainability in the material. Greetings to the bike ... and next time you can let me know beforehand ... 😜 So far I've only had broken spokes, which was scare enough.
