At an altitude of 1,957 meters, the summit cross of the Ebner Joch sits at the southern tip of the Rofan. This good twelve-kilometer hike takes you up a circular path. So that you can pack the 900 vertical meters loosely, two stations are planned for strengthening on the tour. The hike starts at the bottom station of the Rofan cable car in Maurach. A nice hiking trail leads you zigzagging through the forest up the hill. In summer the trees give you a pleasant shade. After almost three kilometers, the forest clears and you see the Buchauer Alm in front of you. High time for a break with a wonderful view of the peaks of the Karwendel.Well-fortified, you attack the second half of the climb. Soon you will be able to see the red summit cross on the top, which gives you thrust for the last few meters. On the Ebner yoke expects you a fabulous view. Deep down in the valley you can see the Achensee, the starting point of your tour. If that does not make you proud! From now on, you are only going downhill. And after a few kilometers, the next rustic retreat awaits you: the Astenau Alpe. Here you can put your feet up and let your gaze wander over the Kaisergebirge, the Zillertal Alps, the Inn Valley, the Stubai Glacier and the Karwendel Mountains. Accompanied by beautiful views of the Achensee, you hike down to the valley to Maurach. If the whole tour is too sporty for you, you can only hike from Maurach to one of the two mountain pastures and then return to the valley. From Pertisau you can take bus 8332 to Maurach. Or you take the ship to the sea crest and run the rest to the cable car.
