Long walk from the parking lot at the Gruol fish pond, first to the Kirchberg monastery. Kirchberg Monastery is a former Dominican convent near Sulz am Neckar, Rottweil district, in Baden-Württemberg. As the monastery of a mendicant order, its church does not have a bell tower, but only a modest roof turret for originally two bells: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kloster_Kirchberg
The very well-kept complex exudes a certain tranquility and invites you to stay longer. A visit to the monastery complex is highly recommended.
The way to Hofgut Bernstein is not very well signposted and we have to take a little detour a few times.

For Sunday we have made something easier. From the parking lot at the valley station at the Latschau reservoir, we walk briefly along the lake, then we turn towards the forest, which welcomes us with a waterfall. The planned path is closed and we have to take the new route. It has been created, but as it looks it has not been used often.
We stop briefly on a bench in front of Schandang and enjoy the panorama of Bartholomäberg.
At the valley station of the Hüttenkopfbahn we cross the tree line and have more air to breathe.
From the junction to the Golmerbahn mountain station, I walk alone on the Golmer Seenweg towards Golmer Seen. First on the forest path, then with a slight incline. I take a short lunch break by a stream. The weather is changing and the first raindrops can already be seen on the First Lake. The Golm Lakes consist of several lakes, four of which are located directly on the hiking trail. The water is crystal clear. In the largest lake, the water seems almost pitch black from a greater distance. The weather will get better. I almost missed the fourth lake. From here it is only a short hop to the Kreuzjoch with the summit cross, the highest point of the hike. Over the ridge we continue to Latschätzkopf (2,216m and without summit cross) to Golmerjoch (2,124m with summit cross)
The tour ends at the Golmerbahn mountain station.

In the evening before the first tour of the weekend, we take a short walk in the area. We come across an unusual company: cabbage slicer production. As it looks inside, nothing has been "produced" here for a long time, but the building is in good shape. A few meters further we stand in front of the birthplace of a famous man (unfortunately unknown to me): Landamann Joh. Jos. Battlogg - de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Josef_Batlogg.The Tour. One thing in advance: the tour is not for "wimps" 😁. At first it is relatively relaxed through the uncut and mown alpine meadows. Shortly afterwards we turn too quickly and have to go back. Then we recognize the ascent to the Alpilaalpe. We did parts of the route in 2011 and 2013. This year, too, the ascent is sweaty. Especially with this great weather. On the Alpe we treat ourselves to a cool cyclist (self-service) before we tackle the blue route towards Tschaggunser Mittagspitze. Up to the saddle / crossing is also "not without"
I storm the summit alone. And that's good. The ascent is actually a via ferrata without safety ropes. Surefootedness, experience, a little courage with reason and a head for heights are required. At the cross I meet two boys with beer bottles in hand and in sports shoes. Irresponsible for me.
The view from the summit is fantastic, not a cloud in the sky and the view is not bad either.
The descent is not easy again.
Then it continues on the Mittagspitzsteig to the Schwarzhornsattel. The blue tour ends here. We turn off towards Tobelsee, where we take a longer break. From here it is only downhill, again via Alpilaalpe, back to the starting point.

For the second tour along Lake Constance, we have chosen the Meersburg-Friedrichshafen route.
Despite the not particularly good weather, there are already some cyclists on the road.
In Meersburg, just before the mini golf course, we find a small but very beautiful park with very nicely staged mannequins. Very nice idea. In the pedestrian zone of the city of Meersburg, relatively fewer tourists sit in the cafe bars and bistros and enjoy breakfast.
In Hagnau, which we only know from traffic jams with 30Zone, we get off and stroll in the pedestrian zone to the park with a huge grape press from 1741.
Then it goes via Immenstaad to Friedrichshafen until we stop at the Schloss-Steg and walk to the Schlosshorn.
In Friedrichshafen we park our bicycles in the pedestrian zone and walk along the shore before going back to Meersburg.
On the way back we stop at the bistro at the Alpenblick campsite. The fitness salad is gigantic: you have to be fit to do it😂 The break was worth it.

The second day of the weekend is about the Widderstein.
First on the forest path that is already known to us, along the Bärguntbach to the Bärgunt hut. At that time there are hardly any hikers at the hut.
From the hut we hike in tight serpentines through the forest to the tree line. The weather is not as humid as yesterday. Actually very pleasant.
Behind the tree line we enter the Bärguntalpe. There is still a lot of snow everywhere. However, the melting of the snow has meant that the waterfalls and the Bärguntbach carry a lot of water. To cross the stream we decide to take off our shoes. It is good for the feet and we have fun doing it. The tour continues past the waterfalls until we enjoy a magnificent view with an alpine panorama from the Hochalp hut on the Hochalp pass. Since the hut is closed, we leave the Widderstein itself on the left and walk straight to the Widderstein hut. After strengthening with goulash soups, we take the descent to Baad over the Gemstelpass. The descent is very steep here and can only be mastered with tight serpentines. The railing only becomes easier from the Obere Gemstelhütte. The hiking trail, known as the Gemstelboden, runs parallel to the Gemstelbach, which you can actually only hear. The gorge is very deep and the flanks very steep. Partly secured with ropes and fall protection. We only get to see him shortly before the Hinteren Gemstelhütte. We take our last break near the hut before the last section of today's hike.
Then it's only flat on the forest road to the parking lot.

Today we go around the Unspitze from the hiking car park in Baad. We first take the Starzelweg, which leads us through the Durabach valley. The weather is great. Almost too warm. We walk uphill over hill and dale with many serpentines to the tree line. Arrived at the tree line we are clap clap wet. Despite the shade under the trees.
Unfortunately, the Starzel Hut is without hospitality. We find an indication that the Stierhofalpe is served. However, it is not on our route. Nevertheless, we take a short break at the Starzel hut before we start towards the Ochsenhofer Scharte. Here we can enjoy the first panorama with a light breeze. In the north of the Hoher Ifen with the Schwarzwasserhütte, in the south ... what can I say: simply wonderful!
From here I tackle the Grünhorn, 2.038m. There is still a lot of snow on the way, which offers a welcome cooling off in the heat. The ascent is relatively easy, even if you have to walk across snow fields.
From the Grünhorn, the highest point of today's hike, you continue via Starzeljoch to Hochstarzel. Then only downhill via Derrenjoch and Derrenalpe to the Mittlere Spitalalpe.
After a strengthening with pita soup and plenty of liquid, we return to our starting point.

Today we took a bike tour along the shores of Lake Constance for a change. Although we actually prefer to walk, we really enjoyed the cool sea breeze in the great weather.
The route from Ludwigshafen to Meersburg leads, as everywhere on the lake, along the shore on very well developed and very well signposted paths.
The beaches and promenades in Überlingen and Meersburg were very well attended, despite the pandemic.
I don't think you have to recommend the tour. She is very popular. Just like all the towns.
In the evening we clearly felt the sun on our backs and arms (sunburn) and the pain in our backs.

After we have bought the ascent tickets, we spontaneously get off at the middle station and take the route to the mountain station. The cyclist in the restaurant brings a welcome cooling off in super weather. Then we set course for the Golmer Joch. We'll have a picnic at the summit cross. Then we tackle the way back into the valley. On the way we use some slides - it was a lot of fun. The route from the middle station to the valley is highly recommended for families with children.
