Hallo und willkommen auf dem Profil vom zweifachen Harzer Wanderkaiser Thore II.
Meistens bin ich im nördlichen Harzvorland oder im Harz unterwegs.
Since the Elz is part of my hiking stamp book in the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park, a hike to No. 18 Prince Wilhelm mine was also on the agenda here. Until then, I didn't even know about the Elz's existence. At first on beautiful autumnal paths, it gets bizarre around the stamping point, cobblestone streets and a few mining relics. Then it goes along an extremely busy railway line, it felt like a train passed here every two minutes, and on along forest edge paths back to the starting point. After the full-bodied advertising by the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park, I had expected a little more, the Elz is not a mountain range for me, but rather an almost flat piece of forest. Maybe I would give the Elz a second chance, but certainly not with the long journey.
Conclusion: only recommended for railway fans, otherwise a hook at the embossing stamp position 18.

Today I was able to go to the island for the first time through low water in the park pond with dry feet, because there is a "natural footbridge". Unfortunately, because of the onset of darkness, no photos from the last section back to the innermost part.

Today we hiked the Geopfad Lichtenberg, this begins at the parking lot of the Waldgaststätte Burgberg, there is also the stamp box No. 19 from the northern Harz foreland. On the varied 8.5 km long circular hiking trail you pass eight stations: 1. Lichtenberg castle ruins, 2. Gaußstein, 3. Quarry at Kruxberg, 4. Altenhagen rest area, 5. mountain ridge, 6. Medieval stone quarry, 7. H.H. rest area. Genthers-Ruh, 8th barbecue area, stations 3 to 7 also have an information board. The restaurant seems to be closed at the moment, so climbing the tower is also not possible.

Two sections of the route on the tour are not recommended: on the one hand, the direct ascent from Kreuztal to Krockstein, through spruce mikado the path is very difficult to walk, sometimes really dangerous. Better to go up and down from Neuwerk. The peer reason is also not nice to walk through tree felling.
And I can't understand the general hype surrounding this blue lake.
Otherwise a nice tour with great viewpoints.
