Today was a very extraordinary day of hiking on the Havel.
It didn't start out so well. The bus to the train station was 17 minutes late, the transfer time was 10 minutes and, as if the bus driver knew what was at stake, he recovered a few minutes by accelerating and braking abruptly. I was awake after I picked up my rucksack in the hallway and asked the passenger three rows beforehand to give me the water bottles that had made it to his feet.To the hike:
Pritzerbe has a historic town center, a corner shop that also sells bread rolls and from here the ferry goes to Klützkow. The journey, which takes about 5 minutes, costs 0.60 euros and you have a wonderful view over the Havel. A brown beaver-like animal swam next to the ferry. Since it didn't hold its teeth above the water ;-) I asked the ferryman who it was: a nutria.
On the other side, I wanted to go directly on the Havel to the artist village of Bahnitz, but I wasn't sure whether the path even existed.
He existed and from here on I had the feeling that luck was completely on my side today.
The dike path was like something out of a picture book. Weite, Havel, dozens of geese that flew up, flowers and grass.
At Bahnitz there is a very interesting boat lock and you often come directly to the river.
On the way back to the Pritzerbe lock it goes over a concrete slab path, luckily most of it in the shade.
In Pritzerbe there is a snack bar, an ice cream parlor and an Asian restaurant on the Havel. The second part of the hike took me to Fohrde, a place that stretches a little before I went to Hohenferchesar. The whole area belongs to the Lower Havel NSG.
My destination was the Gallberg, a pine forest on a hill where urn burial grounds were discovered.
My discovery, however, was very different when I got to the top.
Three swallowtails flew on the hill, one of the most beautiful butterflies with a wingspan of up to 7.5 cm. In the second generation, they were yellow instead of white.
For the wedding they meet on elevated places, that it can also be clearings in the pine forest, was new to me.
One of the butterflies moved towards and away from me. So I stood alone in the forest for 5-10 minutes and directed a butterfly. Due to its size, this butterfly flies very slowly and so it is easy to observe.
Before he could ask for my number, I quickly took a few photos with my iPhone and then moved on to the Forde train station.Since I actually wanted to hike 5 days in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania this week and unfortunately something came up shortly before the start, I tried to walk in the most beautiful areas of Brandenburg instead.
Brandenburg made up for everything.
More even than that.

I found this tour with Burkhard and followed it with a few exceptions. From the Dollinsee I shortened the route because the humidity and hunger made me feel bad.
Thank you, Burkhard!
Since I've only just discovered that the template is from July and Burkhard has documented everything very well, I could actually have left the cell phone in my pocket :-)

Kangaroo, Todtenkopf and endless expanses - this could also be the name of this hike.
The tour begins in Havelberg. A very nice place with a river, cathedral, old town and a baker who specializes in tree cakes. The city can only be reached by bus (approx. 10 minutes from Glöwen), there is no train station.
In the direction of Breddin you leave Havelberg directly over a path on the Havel, small houses on the left, the river on the right.
The path then leads for kilometers through endless expanses, dyke path without Havel, all these green tones almost too beautiful, every now and then a stork swings up and in the middle a happy hiker.
From the observation tower, the path runs over concrete slabs right next to the Jäglitz, then it is another 2 km on a country road to the village of Waldfrieden, where there is a church like Christmas decorations.
There I was invited to a courtyard and had such a surprising encounter as I did in the Uckermark, when a 3 kilo eagle owl was sitting on my forearm, because three kangaroos were hopping through the garden here.
The kangaroo chronicles 1-3
And one came and sniffed my hand.
You drive to Saxony-Anhalt and come back with memories of kangaroos. And now I ask myself: what's next? Tasmanian bare-nosed wombat in Mecklenburg?
Actually I want to go to the Königsfließ via a former stagecoach route. Thanks to the animal stimulus overload, I stayed right on the street, there wasn't much more to impressions.
A special highlight turned out to be the Königsfließ with a waterfall, which meanders through the forest. A very beautiful forest path leads, mostly a little higher, along the river. I had seen the Königsfließ at Frank Meyer: komoot.de/tour/318736280.
Thank you very much, Frank!
The last two kilometers to the train station are missing, the tour was canceled. That was a great day on the border between Saxony-Anhalt and
Brandenburg and my first hike in the Prignitz. I particularly liked the open and friendly people I met and the conversations that just arose.

A varied tour with many small and large highlights.
It was the first time I took the Niederbarnimer Express from Eberswalde in the direction of Seelow further than Niederfinow. I already enjoyed the drive through the Oderbruch.
Altranft is an interesting place with a collection of historic houses, a kind of open-air museum for old handicrafts and a mansion, which today houses the Oderbruch Museum
We continued out of the village on dirt roads at the edge of the forest, then straight into the very dark forest, every 10 meters there was another indication of wild boars.
Shortly after each other there are two small, very beautiful lakes near Sonnenburg on the route.
In the small town there are a couple of pretty stone houses not lined up, more like scattered around, and an old estate that is currently being restored and is not accessible is somewhat hidden.
The Baasee was a highlight for me, it is quiet and idyllic in the forest with many tall old trees. A narrow path leads directly along the shore.
We continued in the direction of Biesdorfer Kehlen, again via Sonnenburg. The cobblestones were difficult to walk for a mile or two.
As on my last hike near Wriezen, the Biesdorfer Kehlen were beautiful. The nature reserve was buzzing and full of butterflies.
The way to the bus near Wriezen was somehow strange at the end. The path between the ponds no longer really existed and the alternative was very nice at first, but somehow from the "What Grandpa knew" section, I felt like the first person in years to walk here. In the end I ended up somewhere between large combine harvesters on a road behind Wriezen.
I had a lot of fun with this tour.
Since almost all of my last hikes started with MOL, I have to go somewhere else now.

The third hike on dirt roads to villages with fieldstone buildings, which I liked very much like the two previous tours.
The second half ran through the forest area of Märkische Schweiz, also because of the heat. A highlight: the path on the Klobichsee.
This corner in Märkisch-Oderland has many similarities with the landscape / paths / villages in the Löwenberger Land.

Small hike that should actually end in Müncheberg.
Since my headgear and my midsummer bodice preferred to sell their place in the rear mobile darkroom to a rain jacket and stay at home, I got on the train in Obersdorf with a red head.
I enjoyed the hike, finally going back on beautiful field paths, but I cannot recommend it because the path at Wermelinsee is overgrown and the Trebnitz Castle Park is completely closed due to dangerous trees (as it says on the signs).

Journey with RE1 to Burg from Berlin HBF 1:22 hoursA hiking excursion to Saxony-Anhalt.
Particularly beautiful: the forest path on the Niegripper Altkanal, the Elbe, the break in the outdoor area of the Waldschänke restaurant in Hohenwarthe with a view of the Elbe, the vineyard and, as a surprise, the Taufwiesenberge nature reserve. If you come from Burg to the Elbe-Havel Canal (KM 5.5) there is a signpost for Niegripp. Unfortunately, right next to it, someone started to build a house on the way and put up a site fence. Here it is better to choose the path in front of the houses and a few meters (KM 5.9) further on to the beautiful path along the canal.Information about the NSG
naturerbe.nabu.de/naturparadiese/sachsen-anhalt/taufwiesenberge/index.htmlI will certainly hike in the area more often.
