Heinrich der l von Zweibrücken expanded Lemberg Castle in the 12th century. The Graf-Heinrich-Weg was named after him. Viewpoints like the Rabenstein, Ringberg and Ruppertstein were not granted to us today because of the fog. But beautiful forest pictures and mighty rock formations made of red sandstone make our tour more beautiful. The landscape in itself is a continuous and dominant rock experience.
The rocky landscape of Maiblumenfels was the most beautiful of the hike with its fantastic view. Downhill we looked for the Klosterbrunn refuge, beautifully situated by small ponds and gigantic rocks.
We had a great view of Lemberg and the Wasgau from the Langmühler Aussicht, but we had to earn it hard again.
Finally, of course, a short tour of the medieval castle ruins of Lemberg.

The starting point of the hike is the summer residence of King Luwid l. It goes up towards Weyher to the Swiss house, with a great view of the Rhine plain. A path leads steeply uphill to the Ludwigsturm on the Blätterberg. The next point is the Kohlplatz spider, now there is a beautiful path down into the Triefenbach valley. A stop at the Naturfreundehaus Edenkoben, where you can get grumpy soup and squeeze kitchen today. Along the quaint stream we come to the hut fountain. There's a lot going on here. It continues along the water educational path and the natural Triefenbachtal to Hilschweiher, which is beautiful in the sun here.
Shortly afterwards, on the right-hand side, it goes slightly uphill again to the starting point, the Villa Ludwigshöhe Castle.
And we also collected "Keschde" 😋😋

Just in time for the start of the hike, rain in Jockgrim. But we were also lucky at the ev. Kiche, which was opened for us by a nice woman. We got a talk about the Ludowici's family and the chapel. Undaunted 🌂 it goes on, we can already see the city wall of Hinterstädtel from afar. What a great view of the fortress before we reach the village through a small gate. Ludwigstrasse with its beautiful, old half-timbered houses is the oldest part of Jockgrim. Now even the rain stops and we can take a break at the Schweinheimer Kirchel. . The clay was important for the brickworks, which is why we visited the clay pits, now also biotopes, and for me absolutely beautiful, the meandering Otterbach between Rheinzabern and Jockgrim.
Despite the rain, my fellow hikers and guests enjoyed it a lot. 💕

This hike had been planned for a long time. I love the Drachenfels and it was closed for a very long time. Actually still, but it really looked like parts of it were released. The next ascent was on the Buchkammerfels, the north flank belongs to Busenberg and the south flank to Erlenbach. I didn't know how high the last rock is, but hello ...
The summit on the Jüngstberg at 490m was really worth it, the last meters up a ladder and I had a wonderful panoramic view. All alone I could enjoy the view and the absolute tranquility.
Now it was all downhill, always following the Bärensteig.

Today I was on the trail of the monks. Beginning at the Eusserthal Cistercian monastery. It's pretty steep uphill, over the Franzosenkopf. At first I thought, the poor monks ... but when I walked up the Eselsteig it was of course clear that the donkeys weren't marching up here alone.
Very varied to Annweiler and at the church, I said goodbye to the great path.
Now a coffee break, otherwise I won't make the Schmalbühlerfelsen. So I made a little tour in the city center of Annweiler. The ascent was then more intense than expected and the Jung-Pfalz-Hütte came too.
But the view from up here, as always, beautiful.
I can now let it roll downwards, but then I was glad when I saw Eusserthal.

Through the desertichelsbachtal it goes first to the bell fountain on the wet meadows. From there the ascent to the watershed and Ritterstein, Rhine / Moselle begins. With two short detours we admire the Krappenfelsen and Christkindelsfelsen with a wonderful view of the endless Palatinate Forest. We take a lunch break at the PWV-Hütte Hohe List, as it should be with Palatinate Lewwerknepp, Saumache and sauerkraut. Then it goes on to the namesake of the tour, the imposing Eulenfels. There was probably an artist at work, lots of interesting owl chairs to rest on. The distant view is simply fantastic, we listen to the wind, otherwise silence. The little devil's table is the last photo opportunity, then we only have a short descent to the parking lot.
A relaxed hike on beautiful paths 🤓🤓

The hiking route leads through forest and vineyards and a longer incline on the Hohenberg. Up here we are almost blown away, great views of the Rhine valley and the surrounding mountains of the Palatinate Forest. Folding rule, Ahlmühle, Hexentanzplatz, everything spinning away before we come to the Neukastell ruins. Wonderful view of the vineyards, we can even see the harvesters. Then it goes back through the Kastanienbusch vineyard with a short stop at the Stammdisch hut. Nice PWV tour with the hiking guide from Sabine and Eric. 💕

Today I did another PWV pre-tour in Jockgrim. Instead of fewer kilometers, there are more every time. I always see something new, I even had to go back a bit because I missed the ice cream parlor.

Today I did a lap in Hayna. The traditional tobacco village fascinates me again and again. I used to even read tobacco here, but everything has been in decline in recent years. All tobacco scales empty ... 😚

Today I went on a hike to see my parents. I wanted to go through the vineyards once before the harvest was over. I'm always surprised at how fast it works, in no time and all the grapes are gone and in the tanks.
Our acceptance point in Insheim was already busy two weeks ago. 🤗🤗
