Yeah, I survived orbit # 6! My first tour with more than 3,000 meters of altitude. 🤩What I have learned:🦜 Early Bird (departure at 5 a.m. is not really my thing) is really worth it: empty streets, few hikers and pleasant temperatures.💦 Fortunately, fountains are not in short supply in the Allgäu. On the descent from the Iberger Kugel there is even a self-service refrigerator (after 139 kilometers) with a great selection of soft drinks.💩 Hike-a-bike in an ankle-deep mix of wet mud and cow dung is pretty cool too.🪐 It was probably naive to think that it would roll comfortably downhill for the last 20 kilometers and 400 meters downhill - even if it sounds like it in the orbit description.🍓My weakness for strawberries doesn't stop at an orbit either. The strawberries at a stand just before the end looked so tasty that I had to take them with me for my first meal at the finish. To the route:🏞 The route is a dream in terms of landscape. The last two ramps are extremely hard, but thanks to a small gear ratio, they are just about manageable.🚳 The only drawback: For my taste there were too many sections where cycling is not allowed. All of these paths were - no question about it - pretty ingenious. Since I was out very early, there were hardly any hikers or walkers there. All good. But I still wonder if it really has to be?

This long day tour starts at the train station in Pontresina. Over the Fuorcla Minor it goes to Livigno and further over the beautiful Val Viola to Poschiavo.

You roll smoothly over trails and gravel roads to Lago Bianco, where you branch off onto the single trail to Fuorcla Minor. This path has been optimized for bikers again and again in recent years, but it still has a high alpine character. Despite these optimizations, you can expect a few sliding passages.

Once at the top, you look into the Valle di Livignio. On the following descent, there are two recommended places to stop for refreshments at Forcola di Livignio with Foresteria 2315 and at Rifugio Tridentina, where you can fill up your energy reserves with delicious cakes.

It continues to Livignio and up to the Passo d‘Eira. Pedal over single trails and the road to Val Viola. At the Pass da Viola you pass the national border. Now a top-class single trail follows. At the fork you take the right trail and surf down towards Lagh da Viola. We continue to the picturesque Saoseo Lake and then always following the signs "Angeli Custodi" in the direction of Poschiavo. With the Räthische Bahn you return to Pontresina.

This extensive day tour takes you from the Upper Engadin to Livigno and back. Sensational single trails and grandiose views of the impressive Morteratsch glacier as well as the Piz Palü and the Piz Bernina await you. From the Pontresina train station it goes over beautiful trails to Morteratsch and on towards the Bernina Pass. Shortly before the Diavolezza valley station you turn into the beautiful high valley Val da Fain. A gravel road takes you to Alpe Stretta and the great panorama of the striking Bernina Group is always with you.The following, well-traveled trail will bring you to the La Stretta Pass. This inconspicuous border crossing is at an altitude of 2,467 meters. From here it goes down through the beautiful Valle di Livigno. When you arrive in Livigno, you can recharge your batteries with delicious Italian pasta or pizza before heading back uphill through Val Federia. The driveway to the Chaschauna pass at an altitude of 2,694 meters is tough. The road to the pass is extremely steep, in the upper part there is a sliding passage for most bikers.Arrived at the top of the Chaschauna pass, you are back in Switzerland. A wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful mountains. What follows now is pure single trail fun. In the summer of 2020, the previously fun-free path was converted into a great trail that takes you through the Val Chaschauna to the Alp Chaschauna. From here it goes down a forest road to S-chanf and on to Pontresina. If you want to save energy, you can also cover the last section between S-chanf and Pontresina with the Räthische Bahn.

What a beautiful and varied route through the Ruhr area. Over 150 kilometers in the green on narrow and wide paths through deep forests and idyllic valleys - without large cities and traffic.Thank you very much Jule_radelt for the really successful route. I particularly liked the high proportion of trails and made my mountain biker's heart beat faster - even if or perhaps precisely because many of the trails were still damn muddy. And for everyone who still wants to ride Spin Spark: if you drive over a wrapped fence and follow an undefined meadow trail that ends at a gate (see photo), you are probably wrong. Here it is worth looking for the right way in front of the wrapped fence - opening the gate was not that easy. Well, and the path that came from the left looked somehow more appropriate. 😉What else I learned:- in the Ruhr area, equestrian sport seems to be more popular than cycling,- People like to mow the lawn here on Saturday mornings and- it is really very hilly in the Ruhr area. In the end it was 2,640 meters in altitude -
at least according to my Garmin Edge 1030 (a little more than stated on komoot).
Last but not least: Has anyone managed to hit all the branches correctly on the first try? If so, respect! 😎

The tour is a good introduction to the enchanting trail landscape of Sedona - not too difficult, but still, or perhaps because of that, really fun.You start at the Little Horse Trailhead. After a short walk on the easy Bell Rock Pathway, turn right onto the HT Trail, which will bring you to the other side of the road. Then continue surfing on the right on Easy Breezy. The trail is ideal for beginners - it winds its way through the cactus landscape. It goes on to Templeton. This trail will also put a grin on your face. You continue to pedal rapidly until you come back to the HT trail, which you already know from the start of the tour. From here it goes back under State Route 179 and back to the starting point of the tour.

This tour starts at the Sugar Loaf parking lot, which is not particularly large. If it is full, you can also start the tour at the Thunder Mountain Bike Shop, which is not far away. The trail fun starts with Andante. Here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Thunder Mountain and Chimney Rock. You will next go around the latter, at least the lower part - the so-called Lower Chimney Rock. This loop is perfect for warming you up for the tricky Thunder Mountain Trail. Then comes the highlight of this tour, the Thunder Mountain Trail. Due to the many rocky obstacles, you will only progress at slow speed here. Mountain bikers who like technical challenges will get their money's worth on this trail. Via Teacup it goes back to the starting point of the tour.Tip: If you haven't had enough, you can also combine this tour with the Grand Central Tour.
