I had already crossed such situations with brooks, I turned around more often when it was too deep.

The eleventh and last stage of the Heuberg-Allgäu-Weg is a brilliant finale. It ends on a wonderful panoramic summit. That's why it's not quite there with the stage destination, because then the descent is still waiting for you. The route is a nice end to the long-distance hiking trail, because it is once again very varied and combines nature with culture. The first two thirds of the stage are relatively flat, so you can save your strength for the big ascent at the end. You leave Eisenharz on the same path that you came the day before to get back on the Heuberg-Allgäu-Weg. Then you hike through a beautiful moor area to Isny. Early in the morning, the atmosphere here is particularly beautiful when the dew is glittering on the plants and the sun is still low.The city of Isny is ideally located for a short break with refreshment. You walk directly through the old town, which you enter through the historic Espantor. Behind the city, the route runs along side roads with little traffic to Großholzleute, where there is an inn if you still need energy reserves for the ascent to the Black Ridge. This starts right behind the village. Winding forest paths wind their way up to the summit, which is crowned by a lookout tower. So a few more meters of altitude are waiting in the form of stairs and you have reached your destination. The view of the Alpine ridge from here is magnificent and you can enjoy your completed long-distance hike to the fullest. From the Black Ridge, for example, you can descend to Bolsternang or via the Wenger-Egg-Alpe to Wengen and spend the night there. But you can also hike back to Isny, where you also have several accommodations to choose from.

On the tenth stage, you are out and about a lot on asphalt paths and small roads. The phenomenal view of the Alps, which stretch along the entire horizon in the south, compensates for this.In Wangen you follow the bank of the Upper Argen out of the city. Briefly through the district of Deuchelried and you are back in the typical Allgäu pre-Alpine landscape, in which farms and houses are hidden between the gentle hills. With only a few trees, shade is rare on this stage - perfect for a warm spring or autumn day. The first third of the route runs with a slight incline past several small settlements. Between Koegelg and Weihers you can make a detour to an elevation on the right and enjoy the view of the Alps.Shortly afterwards you will reach the Upper Castle Pond and right next to it the Ratzenried ruin. Here you can take a break and explore the old walls. Then you continue on side roads until you briefly follow a comparatively larger country road on the Siggener Höhe. Before you hike down the slope to the right, you have another fantastic view to the south. The last few kilometers then only await you a few meters in altitude. North of Eisenharz you leave the route of the long-distance hiking trail and go to the place where there is an inn with overnight accommodation. Otherwise the accommodations in the area are rare and you would have to use a bus.
