Landed on Tenerife yesterday, we took the ferry to La Gomera -45 minutes- (Spain's second smallest island) where a bus took us north to Hermigua-another 30 minutes-. Hermigua is a popular place in the midst of the evergreen mountain landscape, bordering the Garajonay National Park. Water-rich gorges provide the place with moisture all year round and therefore the region has the largest banana harvest in all of La Gomera.
Today's circular hike started right here. Through partly cultivated terraced fields - unfortunately many of them are falling into disrepair because the younger generation is leaving the island - we climbed through the gorge of El Chorro, past the highest waterfall on the island to El Cedro. Stopover with orange juice (freshly squeezed of course) and watercress soup (I can recommend it). Then we hiked on towards Los Acevinos and got back to Hermigua via the small chapel "Erimita de San Juan".

There is a visitor platform between Sahlenburg and Duhnen. The observation tower offers a great view over the landscape.
From here, at low tide, you can wonderfully watch the horse-drawn carriages to Neuwerk and the Wadden Sea. The Duhner Heide discovery trail is in the immediate vicinity. The Duhner Heide is part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. On the almost 2 km long circular route you can find out about the special features of the landscape on a number of boards. With the rising sun, the heather was just gorgeous.

Since the mudflat time only began in the late afternoon today, we didn't run that far out into the mudflats. Nevertheless, after a short time we were almost alone.
It didn't take long and the sun was still out. The cloud images, which always look completely different depending on the direction or the incidence of light, were fascinating.
A nice walk through the silence of the seemingly endless mudflat landscape.

This time we ended up in Duhnen again for a few days. Duhnen is a district of the city of Cuxhaven on the North Sea coast. The health resort with a long, flat beach, on whose promenade terrace bars and fish restaurants can be found, is quite popular with tourists, but we always love the fascinating Wadden Sea, the beach walks, the great opportunities for inline skating and cycling, swimming and saunas in the Ahoy bath and in the evening sitting comfortably in a beach chair 🥂🌅

Quasi from the front door, today we went again on the Bergisch foray no. 13, the "farm path". On the round you can find out a lot about the animals living there, about the work of the farmer and about typical crops that grow on mountain fields on information boards and at various farms.
Outside of the villages, the path led mainly over wide, paved field and farm roads, but in the area of the golf course it was also briefly over smaller paths. Otherwise, however, the asphalt content is relatively high.
The path actually begins from the parking lot at Honrath train station on Grünaggerstraße. We had chosen a different entry point. With the Schiefelbusch farm and the Gammersbacher Mühle there were two farms / courtyard cafés along the way that invited people to stop for a break. You could also have stopped in the bistro at the Auel Golf Club.
