At the end of our Spreewald week, we did another round from Leipe. Since this round was badly signposted, we fully relied on the Komoot navigation system, which this time worked without any problems. The route was again mostly on paved bike paths. But there were also nice sections to migrate, so it was a few kilometers on the top of a dike and some shady paths.

A nice hike on the Spree, albeit large sections on paved bike paths. At the Baltic Sea you still need some imagination that a large lake should be created here. The way back to the Spree through Merzdorf was a little monotonous, but the Trimdich course at the end made the concrete street flair forget again.

On the way to Cottbus make a stop in Burg. We did another lap here. Whereby we kept to the signs for the longest hiking trail (according to the inscription Walk and hiking trail black marking, length approx. 15 km). The signs were more gray / brown instead of black. Overall, the round was very asphalt, as the signposted hiking trails are also largely intended for cyclists. We decided not to climb the Bismarck Tower, although it is currently possible again (admission for adults 3 euros).

This morning another lap on the edge of Baden
undertaken. The goal was 2 castle ruins and some caves. Unfortunately, at the moment you can only visit the ruins of the robber knight's castle Rauheneck and climb the tower. From here I have a wonderful view of Baden and the wooded surroundings, as well as the Rauhenstein castle ruins. This castle complex is currently closed to tourists because it was recently injured by a stone fall. Several caves were visited on the circular hike. Whereby I found the royal cave to be the most beautiful. Via a beautiful hiking trail we came to the spa park where we ended the circular hike. The afternoon was reserved for a visit to the city and lido in Baden. This bathroom has an imposing entrance building. In the bath, which was modeled after the construction of a Roman thermal bath, there is a beautiful sandy beach, lawns and various Water basins with different degrees of warmth (50 m swimming pool, diving area, water slide area, non-swimmers / toddlers' pool, 2 sulfur baths) and various catering options. All in all, a bathroom with a Mediterranean flair

Today I undertook an approximately 13 km long hike with the daughter and her dog (10 month old Appenzeller hybrid / Swissydog) at the foot of the Schneeberg from Puchberg. First we made a flat circular hike to then climb to the Hengsthütte at an altitude of 1060m. It went uphill to the left of the Puchbergbahn on a paved, mostly shadowless path. After a little refreshment and cooling off with a cool drink, we ran on the other side of the railway on a mostly scree path back into the valley to end the hike at the spa gardens in Puchberg.

We started today in Dobellhof Park with its wonderful rosarium. This is currently the main exhibition space for a photo exhibition on Latin America (Viva Latina, June 18th-October 17th, 21st). This exhibition, which is spread over the entire city, shows really good photographic art about Latin America from different centuries or decades. We climbed past the beautiful thermal lido, the entrance building of which appears to have been modeled on a train station, to the Vienna Woods Biosphere Park. This area extends to the Danube in the capital Vienna, which is about 25 km away. The huge area offers for everyone who is looking for relaxation away from larger bodies of water. Be it steep ascent or descent (mostly narrow natural), beautiful forest hiking trails, wonderful views, caves, springs or religious objects. Today's approx. 20 km long hike offered a lot of variety, forests, fields with a wonderful view of the distance, and small villages alternated. We need to get used to the signs, which mostly only indicate times and no distance.
