Today the grandchildren (and parents) invited me for a hike. Originally another round in Sattel was planned, but when we stood in the parking lot by the gondola lift the children turned around and wanted to take the train. So change of plan😄😄 With these special gondolas you don't have to turn your head to look in all directions, no - the gondolas rotate on their own axis. The route was determined above and the first thing to do was to cross the suspension bridge. A pretty shaky affair, which I had a lot of fun with, which cannot be said of all participants 🤢. After the bridge we climbed a wide path, then turned and climbed a steep path. Since Vespers is very important for the children on the hikes, the first rest (it was also noon) was not long in coming. Strengthened, we headed for the mountain inn Herrenboden with a large playground and a small animal enclosure. The Mostelberg with its unique view of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains invited you to linger. We were able to observe paragliders taking off from Mostelberg up close.
Via the "Geissä -Weg" we reached the gondola again and climbed down into the valley.
      Conclusion: a wonderful day 🤩🤩

We parked at the Tannenhöhe hiking car park on the upper forest road. The Groppertal Premium Trail also begins here.
On mostly narrow paths, the path leads us to the eagle owl rock. From there you have a view of the Groppertal. It continues, past fountains and rest benches, as well as various sky beds. Shortly before the quarry we change the valley side and climb through meadows up to the Breitbrunnen. Strengthened with cappuccino and delicious apple strudel, we hiked back on the premium trail.

Today we visited the new marble run path in Birkendorf.
There are 2 circular routes, the short one - around 600 m - is suitable for smaller children and with prams.
The larger round is - about 1.5 km - leads along the ravine to the Bartlesteinfelsen and then climbs up again to the small round. There are 2 parking spaces at the Oberholz car park or at the Naturena bathing lake.
IMPORTANT: Have 1 euro ready, because it is needed to buy the ball from the machine.
The children and us adults liked the ball path, we stayed there for more than two hours.

Today a river trip was on the program, first down the Wutach to Waldshut. Up to the old town for lunch. Continue towards Albbruck and Hauenstein. In Hauenstein leave the bike path and up the steep castle path. As a child I was up there once, so high time for another detour. Hauenstein Castle was one of the largest castle complexes in the region. From up here there is a beautiful view of Switzerland and the Rhine. Hauenstein was once the smallest town in Germany. The next stop was made in Laufenburg. We continued along the Rhine to Bad Säckingen, with its famous, roofed old bridge. In Beuggen, I also had to pass the castle. In the course of the year, various events take place on this area, for example the pottery market or garden exhibitions. The unappealing industrial area announced my today's destination Rheinfelden. We took the train back to Lauchringen and then we had to throw ourselves back on the saddle for 10 km and head home.

Today we packed the bikes on the car and drove towards Hegau. In Tengen on the large fairground was parked. Our way led us on well-developed roads past Büßlingen to the open-air museum Römischer Gutshof. The almost completely restored foundation walls and detailed information boards let us immerse ourselves in life 2000 years ago.
The Heiliggrabkapelle Weiterdingen from 1694 was our next destination. Two gates open to the inner courtyard with 13 stations of the cross. The chapel itself was unfortunately locked. The ice age park with the large Petershöhle was next on our way. The Ice Age Park was built on the edge of the cave and shows the life of the Stone Age reindeer hunters.
After the little town of Engen, the path led up to the old postal route, and then it wasn't too far to Tengen either.
On our way we always had the various Hegau mountains (Hohenstoffel, Hohenhewen, Neuhewen, Hohentwiel, Hohenkrähen or the Mägdeberg) in view.

Today I set off again, just following my nose without a specific goal. In the end I have to say it was an interesting lap.

Today a piece of the Rhine was on the program again. But to get straight to the point, we didn't really get far. Our starting point was Landquart and the destination station was Bad Ragaz about 6 km away from each other. We saw and accompanied the Rhine from afar and put together a wonderful tour.
In order not to lose so much time at the beginning (we wanted to have enough time for the Tamina Gorge) we took the bus to Mastrils. There was a surprise there, the path was closed due to construction work. So one block up we tried again and there was an alternative. A rather steep meadow path led up the mountain, after which we could continue on the originally planned hiking trail. We reached our first stage destination, the Pizalun, over lonely, wide and shady paths, further on narrow paths and of course also over cow pastures. from up here you have a wonderful view down into the Rhine Valley and the surrounding mountains. After the descent we took a rest, benches are ready.
Today's highest point was reached with the Pizalun. Now we climbed down again on narrow paths into the village, then on the road towards Pfäfers. Soon a forest path and later a long piece of stairs led down to the natural bridge over the Tamina. We heard the water rush, saw the crevices, but the water was so far down we couldn't see it. We went on to the old bath and to the entrance of the gorge. It was worth it, a unique experience this gorge with its hot thermal spring. The old bath can be visited. Some of the old bathtubs, the kitchen and the rooms from a bygone era can be seen. On the old road we made our way to the train station in Bad Ragaz.
The gorge can only be reached on foot or by post bus from Bad Ragaz.
