In the northern Kraichgau, near Sinsheim, Steinsberg Castle with its high, striking octagonal keep is visible from afar. In my childhood and later with my own family, the castle and the castle tavern were popular weekend excursions. A visit was long overdue and so the three of us set out today to conquer the castle on foot. Still pretty stormy and cool at the top and lots of fallen trees and broken branches in the forest. But the clear air and the cloud spectacle ... a wonderful day of hiking🌤️🥀🍁

Before "Ignatz" the colorful leaves spontaneously blow off the trees again. Over the Büchelberg with my favorite place to take a break, on to the Möttlinger Köpfle, from where the views were perfect today. Stromberg, Schönbuch and the Albtrauf are within reach and after a few steps you can already see the Black Forest😍
Got something for the saucepan in the farm shop at Gut Georgenau and then it went briskly (sometimes without paths😬) to the Monbach Gorge, which I had almost to myself today. When I got down there was still enough time for a little refreshment in Café Monbachtal before the Nagoldtal Express takes me back home.

A tour by Wanderecco reminded me again that I wanted to explore the Rems Valley. And so it went today with the public transport via the state capital to the final stop in Neckargröningen. On the other bank of the Neckar there are still a few achievements of the LGS to marvel at. Once you have left the urban area, the path leads directly along the river through natural alluvial forest. Later the path joins a meadow path before it then goes rather unexciting on a paved bike and hiking path to Waiblingen. A spontaneous visit to an exhibition in the futuristic-looking gallery and then off to the old town for sightseeing😊

From the train station in Eppingen the path led schnustracks up to the chapel on the Ottilienberg. There, protected from the wind behind the wall, there are tables and benches that have invited us to take a break. After the descent from Ottilienberg, the path to Jägersee was closed due to forestry work☠️😬 However, we assessed the only alternative via the country road as even more dangerous🚙🚚🏍️ and we walked through despite the ban🤫 In the afternoon the clouds had cleared and the Ravensburg showed itself in the best light. Unfortunately, the restaurant was still closed and a tour of the interior was therefore not possible🤷 A large building area is currently being developed on the outskirts of Sulzfeld. Since we didn't feel like walking back, we quickly inspected the construction site😆

Although I was only there two days ago, there were several reasons to return to the Cramerhaus in Lindelbrunn today. The inspiration to start at Lake Silzer came from Marianne, who was there recently. Via Schweinsfels and Kellerfels it went quickly up to the Lindelbrunn castle ruins. Then a little refreshment in the sunny beer garden of the Cramerhaus was announced. On the way back, the sweaty ascent to Eichelberg was on the program🤪 It was a little more comfortable then along Lake Silzer back to the parking lot.

The tour runs largely on the Dimbacher Höhenweg, which was already on the program in February 2021 (`` under arctic weather conditions ''). Shortly after the start in Lindelbrunn, you will pass the youth recreation center of the same name in the city of Pforzheim. When we were young, we often spent our holidays or weekends here and thus made acquaintance with the Palatinate Forest. What was not possible on the tour in winter due to icy roads and rock closures was made up for this time: ascent to the Dimberg pillar and an extensive visit to the Rötzenfels. The "first ascent" of the Hockerstein was also absolutely worthwhile. The vantage point at the summit cross can be reached safely via a rope-secured path. After the exhausting tour, we postponed the visit to the Lindelbrunn castle ruins, which was planned for the end, and instead corrected our fluid deficits in the Cramerhaus 🍻😆

Today it was again the order of the day to drive to Isny. Before we drove home there was a little lap to loosen up your legs. Nothing spectacular, lots of green and fresh air and the very best ... no rain😊 Then a short visit to the glass artists in Schmidsfelden.

The next section through the Kraichgau went from Odenheim to Eppingen in the best hiking weather. This time I didn't pay attention when planning the tour and so I snuck into a long stretch of country road on the way to Tiefenbach😏 but after the ascent to the Kreuzberg chapel, from where you can enjoy a great view of the hilly landscape, the carver was quickly forgotten😊 briefly In front of Elsenz is the pond of the same name, which invites you to linger and take photos in the wonderful weather.

Stroll through the Remstäler and Esslingen vineyards. Perfect hiking weather and the grape harvest is in full swing everywhere.

Before heading home, we took advantage of the nice weather and went on a hike from the Hündle mountain station. On the premium trail "Nagelfluhschleife" we went to the Buchenegger waterfall. I forgot the smartphone in the car😬 so today only photos from the digicam, which was really overwhelmed in the difficult lighting conditions at the waterfall🤷 and the order of the pictures ... 😩
