Start and finish today were probably two of Germany's ugliest train stations (Waldenburg and Schwäbisch Hall). The route, however, in the very best autumn weather, was wonderful. The current blaze of color can no longer be topped. And the thermometer again reached the 20 degree mark.
Up to Waldenburg with the best foresight including a panoramic view, further through the Swabian, Franconian forest down to Neumühlsee and along the high-altitude hiking trail to the Lemberghaus der Naturfreunde SHA. An ideal and popular resting point. Down in and through the Breiteich and over the Heimbach settlement down to the beautiful old town of Schwäbisch Hall.
Enjoy coffee and cake from the legendary Café Ableitner directly at the new Globe Theater in the autumn sun and on to the ugly train station in SHA. From there the delayed RegionalExpress brought us back to Waldenburg.
A recommended tour.

Today Keschdeweg hike part 2. This time unfortunately without sun, but hazy and foggy but without rain and relatively mild.
We had keschde collect today.
From Neustadt a.d. Weinstrasse went past the historic Hambacher Schloß, the cradle of German democracy and further along vineyards and through the southwestern Palatinate Forest to Edenkoben.

You fall again!
The Southwest Palatinate "Keschde". Like every autumn.
Even the Romans brought the Mediterranean plant to the Palatinate.
What for? Probably to provide their troops with "the bread of the poor".
In October the ripe chestnuts fall from the trees; the spiky shells burst open and many locals and visitors are now drawn to the Keschdeweg to collect. So do us today, on this sunny autumn day.
The Keschdeweg is almost 60km long in total. Not only collecting the keschde, but also the Palatinate wine ensures that the routes take longer than usual 😜🍇🍷

A wonderful autumn day invites you to this beautiful round. The two incisions shown in the profile are not available and are probably the result of Komoot's imagination 😁 GPS may not have been available at the time. The real vertical meters are more likely to be just under 150 m.Definitely worth stopping at the Löwenbräu in Neuhaus and at the Hopfenhaus at the Sauer Brewery in Röttenbach (also with a beer garden)The Franconian brewery diversity is unsurpassed anyway 🍻🍺
