The Breitach, which rises in the Kleinwalsertal, also flows through a rocky gorge on its way - the so-called Breitachklamm. The designated circular route is not particularly long, but provides interesting and impressive perspectives when you walk along the steep rock faces and see the raging river below or next to you. Incidentally, at the highest point you are a little more than 1000 m above sea level.
      Recommended hike!

Dear hiking friends,... unfortunately no specific invitation to the next group tour at the moment. This is expected to take place in October, more on this shortly. I'm just thinking about the mode and the route. My route selection for the hiking season 2022 at the Märkischer Wanderbund is pending, and I'm still undecided about the upcoming group tours, which I would like to offer monthly via komoot or via my hiking blog, in the best case scenario.Since I am always open to new concepts, 'acting at eye level' is important to me and I very much like to use technical aids in the hiking area, I would like to ask you for your opinion, your preferences and, if necessary, suggestions for optimization along the way.You will find a pre-selection of over 50 tours in the collection created for this purpose at: komoot.de/collection/1324721/-geplante-gruppenwanderungen, most of which I have already hiked in exactly the same way myself. To do this, I have checked hundreds of hikes over the last 6 years for their suitability as group tours, in terms of attractiveness, accessibility, weather resistance and of course the length of the route. In the end I was amazed at how many tours I would hike alone again at any time, but not in a group, for a variety of reasons ...If you are interested, please vote anonymously which tours you would like to hike in the group with me at: wandern-berlin-brandenburg.de/abstimmung-geplante-gruppenwanderungen
Until 30.09. open, 5 selections are possible there.
Feel free to write your feedback, suggestions, your own ideas, etc. here or in the collection in the comment.

The wonderful weather once again lured people onto the slopes. And as often as we have toured this region - there is always something new or familiar that changes. Unfortunately, the European bridge is still being built on the German side, while the Polish section has already been completed. Crossing the bridge in 2021 appears very unlikely. What a shame!
After an excellent lunch in Niederwutzen (PL) we allowed ourselves a short rest at a place where King Friedrich Wilhelm IV is said to have had breakfast once - well!
The return tour ran without any special features on well-known terrain.

The tour around Gatow had to be canceled the day before due to bad weather. So the next day I drove home through Berlin on my MTB out of "defiance" 😁.

After a refreshing swim in the Baltic Sea, I started a relaxed tour with many interesting places. From the observation tower on the Krückenberg one had a beautiful all-round view. The Holländermühle in Benz invites you to enjoy delicious coffee and cake - how nice ☕😉!
There wasn't much activity at Mellenthin airfield, but there was at the moated castle, which I strongly recommend visiting.
Unfortunately, I stayed a little too long at the railway lift bridge in Karnin and reached the Zecheriner bridge "on time" at opening time. But it was also very interesting to watch how the many waiting boats passed the bridge one after the other. From the observation tower in the renaturalized Peenewiesen one had a nice view. From Relzow, the silhouette of Anklam, my destination for the day, became visible.

As often as I've been on the island of Usedom - there is always something new to discover. The old steamship in Wolgast, which has been used as a train ferry for years, will soon be celebrating a milestone anniversary. You can also enjoy a wide variety of circuses - they are finally allowed to open again!
The great sand sculpture near Kölpinsee will probably be a victim of the next thunderstorm, but until then it will be a great eye-catcher.
Due to time constraints, I could no longer pay the Gnitz a visit, but this will be made up for. After passing the narrowest part of the island near Zempin, Koserow was soon reached. Incidentally, the new pier has become magnificent.
The tour ended in Heringsdorf Neuhof.

Very relaxed tour from old town HGW to old town Wolgast. It went through Eldena, past the bascule bridge and ruined monastery, through the Pomeranian landscape - partly on bike paths, partly on less frequented country roads, but mostly good ground.

This time explorations in the northern Neumark as far as West Pomerania were on the program. There was a bit of everything, i.e. demanding trails through mixed forest, driving on country roads with little traffic and finally also a piece of the well-known R20 cycle path, which led us back to Barlinek (Berlinchen). The turning points were Dolice (Dölitz) and Choszczno (Arnswalde). The beauty of the Pomeranian landscape has consoled the sometimes considerable infrastructural deficits in some villages. Most of the churches were, astonishingly, in remarkably good condition. The town of Arnswalde was almost completely destroyed in the war, because there is basically hardly an old town. Nevertheless, you can feel everywhere that things are progressing, but it just takes time!

We have arrived in Mainz, the destination of our tour. Starting from the source of the Rotmain, we were on the road for six days, recorded two stages each day and covered a total of around 600 km until we reached the mouth of the Main (... into the Rhine).
The trip was very interesting, a bit adventurous (in terms of the weather 🌦️), but overall very varied. Due to lack of time, we did not visit many places on our route or only visited them briefly. Everything is just a compromise ...
We can advise everyone who is thinking about riding the Main Cycle Path with a clear conscience: Just do it! 🚴🙋
