In our opinion Zermatt is one of the best MTB destinations in Switzerland. Hardly anywhere else do you find so many beautiful singletrack trails within a small area - that paired with one of the most epic views of the Matterhorn.
If you have good technical riding skills on difficult trails, Zermatt is the place for you. For less experienced bikers there are now a handful of well-built flow trails in Zermatt too. Since Zermatt is car-free, however, you either have to arrive directly by train or leave your car in Täsch in the car park and take the train to Zermatt from there.
To get the most out of your Zermatt bike trip, here are a few hot tips:
Bikepass Zermatt:
Price: from 133 CHF/day (May to June, discounts for multi-day tickets)
"Halbtax" (Half-fare travelcard): If you have a Swiss "Halbtax" card, you pay only half the price for the day ticket. Each additional day is charged at CHF 10. So it's already worth it if you stay for two days or more.
If you have enough stamina, you can ride in Zermatt from 8:30 am to 9 pm. Although the Gornergratbahn transports bikers only after 4 p.m., it then does so until late in the evening. Sunset rides at their best!
Eat/drink:
The Northwall Bar in Zermatt doesn't only serve very tasty (and affordable!) pizzas, but also local craft beer from Martigny by White Frontier. In this restaurant you meet all the locals.
Specialty Coffee: Zermatt even has a coffee roasting facility, the highest in Europe. You can enjoy this coffee at Cervo Stazione, Aroleid, Petit Royale or Le Gourmand.
Camping:
Since Zermatt is car-free, you cannot drive your campervan into the village. Down in Täsch, however, there are several campsites where you can stay overnight. From there you can easily take your bike to Zermatt by train.
Train & Bike:
If you transport your bike in Switzerland by train or post bus, you have to buy a ticket for it. Unless you transport the bike in a travel bag or a foldable "TRANZBAG".
Bikeshop:
In the Bikearena in Zermatt you will find competent and friendly staff and everything you need for your bike adventure. Rental bikes, workshop, clothing and trail tips leave nothing to be desired.

El teleférico Schwarzsee-Matterhorn Paradise te lleva a la última estación "Trockener Steg". A partir de ahí, la ruta de senderismo pasa por los pasajes rocosos formados por el glaciar. Básicamente, el sendero no es extremadamente difícil, pero algunos pasajes rocosos son difíciles.

En las altas montañas, un hermoso y fluido sendero alpino serpentea a lo largo del flanco hasta que se adentra en los pasajes del bosque en Sunnegga.
