Water-Cycle Paths near Rosenheim along the Inn and Mangfall Rivers

On the Water-Cycle Paths, the journey is the destination. These beautiful routes lead along the banks of rivers in Upper Bavaria and guarantee pure relaxation. As you roll along, you gaze over the water to the mountain peaks that line up on the horizon. In this Collection, we present three routes that start or end directly in Rosenheim. As the city is well connected by train, you can comfortably travel to these cycling trips by train. This means you avoid any traffic and don’t have to strap your bike onto the bike rack.

Rosenheim is an ideal starting point for day trips along the Inn Cycle Path. Following the river to the north, you can visit the beautiful town of Wasserburg. The river loops around the colourful old town which sits on a headland – only a narrow land bridge connects the island to the shore. Heading south, the Inn Cycle Path takes you to Kiefersfelden municipality on the Austrian border. On the way, the views over the mountains become more and more beautiful with every pedal stroke. We should also mention, if our circular routes on the Inn Cycle Path are too long for you, that’s not a problem. A railway line traces the river so you can just hop on a train en route and head back to Rosenheim.

Another varied route takes you from Munich to Rosenheim via the Mangfall Cycle Path. On this route, you could take the train and combine your journey with breakfast in Munich or a short stroll through the city.

By the way: The Inn Cycle Path is a long-distance cycle route that follows the river across three countries from St. Moritz in Switzerland to Innsbruck in Austria and Passau in Germany. In Bavaria, beyond the Austrian border, it crosses the Chiemsee-Alpenland region where Rosenheim is located.
