Today the weather god was in our favor. Instead of the announced 12 l, there were only a few drops. ☁️😅

Today, too, the weather was better than predicted. ⛅ Only a few droplets, otherwise bright to cloudy. Today we first went to the very tip of Baden-Württemberg in beautiful Wertheim and then on via Marktheidenfeld to the Snow White town of Lohr am Main

Today was good, albeit cool, weather. We have left the Spessart and dive into the vineyards of Weinfranken. Past pretty towns and cities such as Karlstadt and Würzburg and, at the end, Ochsenfurt. 🐂 🚴‍♀️

On the way from 🐂furt to 🐖furt today the tour took us through beautiful Kitzingen and on to the beautiful Wein-Mainschleife via Sommerach to Volkach. Today it went from Weinfranken 🍷 to Bierfranken 🍺, or geographically speaking, from Lower to Upper Franconia. The cycle paths were partly removed from the Main and partly ran along busy streets. Even today the weather meant well to us, just a little drizzle on the canal. 🌥 I spontaneously decided on the canal route and not the valley route of the Regnitz cycle path. It started today, with the 2nd part of my summer tour 2021. The GDL strike almost thwarted my plans, but I was lucky, my planned connection from Nuremberg to Ulm was not affected by the strike 😁🚂. Today the tour started with a sporty start, a few inclines to wake up 😉. Then came the part that I was really looking forward to ... cycling towards the mountains 🚵‍♀️ At Immenstadt I left the Iller cycle path and took the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path. Along the large Alpsee to Oberstaufen in imperial weather ☀️

This morning we first went on quiet country roads through the Westallgäu, mostly downhill to Lindau. After a little stroll through town, we continued along Lake Constance to Immenstaad. 🌞🚵‍♀️

Today it was easy to get to Meersburg on Lake Constance. 🚴‍♀️ The crossing to Konstanz was very nice, ⛴ although it was a bit hazy. The old town of Konstanz is really worth seeing. Along the Rhine lake it then went through neat little Schweitzer villages to Schaffhausen to the Rhine Falls. A must if… Leer más

The last stage to Basel is done, just in time before the rain came. Somehow I can't get used to the cycle lane without getting stressful when the heavy trucks thunder past me. 🙈🚚🚛 Otherwise there were very beautiful wooded areas and paths on the Rhine close to the river. After a nice weekend in Basel, I made my way home today. For this I chose the German side of the Rhine. The journey along the old Rhine to Breisach went on finely graveled, well-traveled riverside paths.

Even today the weather god was well disposed to me. Apart from a little drizzle, I didn't get anything. ☂️ For this, my bike was really soaked in on wet gravel and sand paths. 🙈 Unfortunately you couldn't stop in the Rhine floodplains without being attacked by mosquitoes. 🦟🦟🦟 So I got there earlier than planned. 🏁

Since bad weather was announced today and I have never been to Strasbourg, I decided on the French side of the Rhine Cycle Route. There was more traffic here, 🚗 but I was able to drive on paved roads all the time. A wise decision, despite 2 hours of continuous rain the bike was rather cleaner… Leer más
