What I particularly liked I put in the title:

-The forest road south of Füssenich am Eulenberg (picture 2)

-The ascent to the Breidel (it feels like the Eifel starts here, picture 7 + 8)

-The Rur Valley near Kreuzau (the entire journey from Berg to the Rur Valley is great, Fig. 9 + 10).

Spring sun on the edge of the Eifel:

(the mountain with the beautiful castle)

(the mountain with, uh, ... the beautiful landscape).

That makes me very happy when my tours encourage @ Spike



Steinerberghaus has Monday and Tuesday rest day by the way.

The Hürtgenwald used to be a pure "drive-through forest" for me when I came from Kornelimünster or Belgium.

I have now loved this northern part of the Eifel enough to make it the destination of a tour from time to time.

Between Birgel and Gey I got on bad gravel - country road recommended ...

The most beautiful section of the tour, from Burgau Castle on the nature reserve of the same name and especially from the NSG Rurtal to the Drover Heide, was bathed in fantastic afternoon light.

El castillo de Vogelsang fue un "Ordensburg nazi"..., luego un área de entrenamiento militar, hoy un museo y sede de la administración del Parque Natural de Eifel.

The Hürtgenwald forms the northern part of the North Eifel Nature Park.

Even before World War II, it had been hard hit for forestry.

The last major defense battles against the Allies in the west - which took place here - did not do the forest any good either.
