🇪🇸 La Gomera

I have to say: there's something about hiking in a T-shirt and shorts in January at 22 degrees - I didn't know that before 😉

A very small round to acclimatize today. Deep valleys, impressive washed out rock faces, alpine paths and wonderful views - exciting here! 😊

Hoping to be fog-free today, we went to the large hiking car park Pajarito. The goal was the Roque de Algado, the landmark of La Gomera. After the sun came out in San Sebastian, the hope for a small tour rose again. Since the laurel forest with its moss-covered trees was on the way back, we started a small but really nice tour.

On the GR 131 we hiked a bit towards Fortaleza, the table mountain, a great mountain range

On La Gomera this is the Alto de Garajonay with its 1483 vertical meters.

After it rained this morning we decided to visit the "capital" San Sebastian. The sun was even shining on this side of the island.

The inner city has a small pedestrian zone - a small city park - a nice church with a Padre Jose statue - the port with the ferries to Tenerife and a large construction site… Leer más

In a very strange hazy light, because of the current Sahara wind, we started from the hiking car park. The first viewpoint, the Mirador de Alojera, was not far.
