Gently gliding downhill through dense forests, along idyllic riverside cycle paths, past picturesque half-timbered villages and vineyards – this is what awaits you on the Kinzigtal Cycle Path. From Freudenstadt to Offenburg, it takes you on wonderfully quiet paths through a unique landscape and past many a cultural attraction.

The cycle path has a total length of just under 90 kilometres (56 mi), so you can also take it on as a day trip. In this Collection, I'll show you the route divided into two stages, each about 40 kilometres (25 mi) long. This way, the Tour is a pleasure for the whole family and you have enough time for both extended breaks and to visit the beautiful places you pass. You can gain an insight into life in the past at the Black Forest open-air museum near Hausach, the traditional costume museum near Haslach or the monastery in Alpirsbach, followed by a beer tasting – immerse yourself in the region's exciting cultural past and present.

Another advantage of the route: it’s slightly downhill the whole way. From Alpirsbach, the route is advertised as barrier-free, so you can ride a recumbent, a handbike or with a wider trailer if you want.

Offenburg has excellent connections to the Deutsche Bahn network. There are even trains from Berlin, Hamburg or Basel. From Offenburg you can get to the start point in Freudenstadt using the Kinzigtalbahn line 721. The view from the train window is just a taste of your upcoming cycling experience.
