People, the Apple City is longer than you think! Today, all trails on the right and left always run right on the river from the source near the Rennsteign to the mouth of the Gera. Was really a very nice tour and if someone of you wants to drive it, I would be happy to be there!
And here is how to get to the Rennsteig. You have to get there somehow 😥 Or take the bus 🤪

Today we went from Gotha on the monstrous reason at Friedrichroda on the Rennsteig and from there on the "Georgenthaler wall" (Super Trail) and the Apfelstädt route with the Apfelstädt trails back to Erfurt. Fun-Fact: The Apfelstädt route as an official cycle path leads directly through the military…
Daaankeschön, it was great! Definitely 2019 again! Great event, perfect organization, super nice helpers at the refreshment points, great crowd at the track and only considerate bikers.
Very cool

You can not rely on Komoot anymore! A single trail is usually pretty flowig :-) At Komoot also like wide as a forest highway, a rocky trail or a wide-sweeping indefinable trail with waist-high grass above and morass below.
Nevertheless, it was horny shit, especially because of the prospects!
Attention: at the Suhler Hütte turn left immediately down the three steps and then after 50 m at the next signpost keep left towards Borstenplatz. Is a very narrow path.
The underground was unfortunately only moderately nice today (asphalt up almost to the Rennsteig and back via Tambach-Dietharz / bike path). But the scenery was once again fantastic and Bergsee + Rennsteig and the ingenious 5km downhill to Tambach-Dietharz have ripped it out again :-)
This time started from Schmalkalden on the Werratal cycle path, then the road to the mountain lake Ebertswiese tortured and over Rennsteig / New Ausspanne / Hubertuswiese back to Schmalkalden.
All in all a very nice tour: once around the Ohra dam, then on the old Tambacher road to the Rennsteig up tormented, there fix to Oberhof and then almost only downhill to the Lütsche reservoir and back to Luisenthal. Thuringia is sooo beautiful! But I wonder where the remaining 40 HM stayed ???
Oh yes, that was THE big surprise! I was so taken aback. How big is the chance ??? So: look up :-)
@ Jeannette: The piece between Rennsteig junction and Schmücke was overall very nice to drive. Is mostly designated as S2, m.E. but only S1.
