The Kraichbach itself is in a much worse condition than I know it from the upper reaches. You can save the section. The Ketscher Rheininsel is definitely a recommendation. In the old Rhine area there are always small paths to the bank area.

Recommendation: go the tour against the direction shown here. Conversely, especially with children, it is better. Before you go back there is a large meadow that invites you to a picnic. We particularly enjoyed the wild orchid along the way. The parking lot is small and quickly full. A lot of hikers.
