Today I have an appointment with a former work colleague and borrowed a tour from blackcharly. The weather is cool, max. 18 degrees today. The sun only lets out a few rays in the last third of the tour. The tour starts in Ribbeck, I think this is where a Mr. Fontane invented the pear 😂. That's why there are so many parking spaces here because everyone wants to participate in the radiance of the place🤓. We warm up for a short while on the so-called park tour, then we dare to go on a beautiful forest trail at Groß Behnitzer See. Very beautiful here. Mr. Fontane also invented a cycle path 😂 and we meet this shortly afterwards. We don't follow the path for long and roam the Havelland Luch.brandenburg-lese.de/index.php?article_id=239It goes a long way through woods and meadows. The paths are great and finally we land on the quiet Pauline.bahntrassenradeln.de/details/bb09a.htmIt's km by km straight ahead on the finest asphalt through the finest nature. We are cruising the great main Havelland canal. This ambitious project at the time serves to drain the area and was dug from 1718. Soon it goes towards Karwesee and we are now driving on the road for some time. Not a lot of traffic, but not much fun. A short excursion goes to Hakenberg, above us lies the upper Rhinluch.
It's not far from here to the Victory Column. It is reminiscent of the Battle of Fehrbellin in 1675. The Prussians pretty much beat up the Swedes here. Lots of dead - it shoots through my head how miserable the soldiers may have died here. In this respect, I have my dear need with this kind of culture of remembrance. We take a coffee break in the bar next to the column. From Dechtow we drive on an endless country road. I remember that I shouldn't, under any circumstances, never drive the route above Sandhorst, so of course we turn around immediately and drive there anyway 🙈. So it's nice there on the canal, but actually inaccessible. I pay tribute to my passenger for doing this nonsense. I can't recommend it 😎. From Kuhhorst the route becomes more beautiful and we reach the Karolinenhof goat cheese dairy.
guter-ziegenkaese.deWe let ourselves be carried away by the meadow café for another break, but we don't regret it for a second. Goat cheesecake, fresh goat cheese and white coffee with goat milk taste really delicious. I buy some types of cheese in the farm shop (all yummy 😋, by the way) and thanks to the many breaks we continue on our way well strengthened. Soon we are on the historic city center route and purr kilometers away. At Börnicke we take a dangling through the forest - it's worth it in my opinion.
From Nauen it goes almost continuously through fields and meadows, car-free and well developed. Havelland cycle path 👍🏻. Now to the city with the pears from the beginning and unfortunately a nice tour comes to an end. Thanks to blackcharly for showing us - all in all a nice route. 🤩

I can inspire my wife to go to Friedrichstadt ... of course we also have a look at the absolutely worth visiting gem between Treene and Eider.friedrichstadt.deWe decide to come back at some point, with time in our luggage and in the mood for a little canal cruise. I'm motivated to jump on the bike and off you go. For the most part, the tour takes place on the Eider -Treene - Sorge - bike path. But partly also on the Viking - Friesen - Weg. The wind is blowing properly and it is rather cool today. The sun rarely comes out and the short cycling shorts are almost too short 😂. I drive over Seeth and Drage and shortly after Stapel I get visual contact with Treene. Very nice. We continue towards Bergenhusen, the stork village with a NABU exhibition on the subject. I continue to crank to the Alte Sorge Loop and am amazed that there are even swimming spots here. However, the water doesn't look like it 😬. At the sand sluice shortly before Christiansholm, I learn interesting facts about water regulation and also about growing potatoes. It now goes a long way near the Sorge and at Tetenhusen I turn towards the NSG Tetenhusener Moor. The way is pretty bad here, I'm amazed that this should be an official bike path. For a long time I've been seeing an adder again, she is dozing on the edge of the path and is completely chilled.
You continue to Börm and Börmerkoog as well as Dbodstedt and Holligstedt. My last attempt to get a coffee in Ellingstedt fails. I state: there is definitely still room for improvement when it comes to culinary delights. I think I'm already in Brandenburg 😂. Fortunately, I have bread and cookies with me.
This is followed by rather moderately exciting kilometers of road. After a left turn I reach Margarethenwall.
sachsens-schloesser.de/danewerk-der-krummwall-und-der-margarethenwall As long as I follow the wall, the path is still quite nice, between Dannewerk and Haddebyer Noor not really. Civilization has unmistakably got me back 😬. I decide to take the longer route around the Selker Noor, you don't indulge in anything else. From Borgwedel I drive a piece directly on the Schlei, not a good path, but a nice one. Via Weseby I reach Missunde and with it my ferry to the reward beer 🍻.
All in all a nice tour. I can really recommend going to Treene, Eider and Sorge.

Today we are visiting the cosmopolitan city of Büdelsdorf. It's a friend's birthday and we use our vacation for a "holiday". As a surprise she invited us to the Nordart. This is located on the grounds of the Carlshütte artwork.kunstwerk-carlshuette.de/ueber_uns.htmlBasically I am an art buff, but I cannot escape the fascination of many works of art. The area includes a sculpture park with some great works. Even if the idea behind the work does not always emerge, you should pay attention to the selection of the material, the predominantly perfect craftsmanship and the ideas. In the gigantic industrial halls there are sometimes huge sculptures and installations. But also a lot of paintings and collages. As I said, I'm not an art lover, but I'm extremely enthusiastic about this exhibition and the site. I can only recommend. 👍🏻

The energy has not yet been fully applied, so I set off for a short run in the early evening, which I make a little longer than the last one. The nice thing about the area is the multitude of possibilities. Best weather, nice run… It’s possible.

After yesterday's bankruptcy on the Schlei, we will try it today on the Geltinger Birk. We have been here several times and everyone in the area should treat themselves to a visit. Lots of forest, heather and sea. Much fluttering, running and crawling animals. The description of the route is superfluous as it is self-explanatory. Shortly before Falshöft the Birk ends, or the Birk or maybe the Birk 🤔. We extend the loop to Pottloch and ride along the steep bank. The path is more of a beaten track, but the view more than makes up for it (I don't mean the nudist beach 🤣). The way back from Pottloch takes place on cycle paths or quiet side streets. Nice round also for infrequent drivers. And if you want to swim on the way but don't have your swimming bag with you, you now know what to do. Also works without 😂.

After everything is done in Kappeln and my wife is on the way to the holiday home, I also cycle there. I have cobbled together a wild mix of back roads and have not left out some forest and hiking trails.
First it goes in the direction of Grimsberg out of Kappeln. Shortly before Grimsnis then turn left and continue towards Grimsfeld and Buhs. The straw walls, wonderfully fragrant in the sun, on the harvested fields awaken childhood memories and I have to brake myself to jump in 🙈.
I turn into Drülter Holz and drive through a great piece of forest. This is also great for hiking.
      de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/FFH-Gebiet_Dr%C3%BClter_Holz
I also find a very nice path when I turn onto Stoltebülldamm before Stoltebüll and follow the path through a protected area. Drives great and the landscape is wow 🤩. In Stangheck I turn left and leave Wippendorf and Brunsholm behind me. The village of Blick leads me on a difficult trail, initially quite nice, later ending in the vegetables. Just barely used and therefore overgrown. I have to push the bike a little 😬. I land in Brarupholz and drive through a very beautiful piece of forest. Via Wagersrott I come back to a forest road above Norderbrarup. Actually super nice, but completely muddy and churned up by a large device. I break off the attempt to drive on a stream again near Flarup, because the driveway is marked as a private road. Via Norderbrarup and Brebel I get to the Oxbek, one of the larger rivers here. I climb over a weir. The path I have chosen is almost impassable. Slightly swampy and overgrown with tall grass. I drive in first gear and after the short stretch I am completely exhausted 😂. Near Twedt I find a hiking trail on the Loiter Au that is very nice to drive on. Pure nature ! At the height of Westerakeby I turn onto the old embankment to Süderbrarup and leave it again shortly before Steinfeld. I meander on small country roads and farm tracks in the sunset to Geelbyholz and from there it's only a stone's throw to the reward beer 🤫🍻. For me it was the perfect tour, totally varied and a real alternative to the overcrowded Schleiufer. The small roads are great and the views of the landscape are always fantastic. My little excursions in muddy and grassy terrain are the icing on the cake for me, that will be remembered. Maybe leave it out 🤔. Otherwise recommended for the night drive.

Today my favorite person would like to ride a bike and even has a route ready. There is no question, but the bikes are charged and we drive off. We start at the parking lot in Arnis and drive towards Grödersby. The path itself is close to the Schlei, and you can always marvel at beautiful panoramas. The route is mostly along the road and the bike paths are excellent. Besides us, countless other cyclists also appreciate this 😬. Shortly before the Lindaunis Bridge we take a short break with a wonderful view of the Schlei. Then my wife's pedelec went on strike. The engine refuses to support. My first impulse to check the sensor on the rear wheel remains inconclusive. As it turns out later, I was correct, but I moved the sensor in the wrong direction 😬. The attempt to cope with the first climb without support fails and so I leave the unfortunate woman behind to get the car in Arnis and collect the damaged woman. So I continue the planned tour and at Sieseby I drive on the path directly to the Schlei. You could have a nice cup of coffee in Sieseby…. 🙄. I don't even look at nature anymore, I want to get to the car as soon as possible. Shortly after the village of Winnemark I reach the ferry from Arnis and let myself be ripped over for € 1.50. Shortly afterwards I return by car and pay € 3.00 - weird pricing. I'll save the girl and we'll go to Kappeln, where a skilled screwdriver will quickly fix the problem and install an update 🤔. My wife is fed up and drives the car home, I have a second helping hand ...

Today I have big plans, or long ones, but at least high ones. I start the day with a crossing of the Missunder ferry. The day starts well. It is still a bit cloudy, but there is no wind. The sun will report extensively. First it goes towards Weseby and a nice piece along the Schlei. At Fleckeby I turn into the hinterland. I learn that there is the place Hütten, namesake of the Hüttener Mountains, but also Unterhütten and Oberhütten. In a fit of sporting disorientation, I climb the Aschberg with the hotel and observation tower set up there. That went well in the legs 😅. I leave the Bistensee on the right and the Westensee on the left. However, I still find a nice riverside path that I cycle off. At the end there is a flight of stairs and I have to drag my companion up. For a short time I follow the course of the Schmirnau, a hiking trail rather than a bike, but I love trails like that and the brook also has its history. From now on I follow the North - Ostseekanal route and shortly afterwards turn onto the path next to the canal.
      nok-sh.de
Now kilometers are being demolished. A short swerve inland from Klein Königsförde is required, but at Strohbrück I am back at the NOK. Shortly before Kiel I look for the remains of the old Eider Canal, the predecessor of the Kiel Canal, so to speak.
      apt-holtenau.de/holtenau-info/history/kanal1.
An adventurous path leads there, but the path on the other side back to the NOK is even more adventurous. More suitable for hikers and mountain bikers. The history of the canal is quite exciting. At that time it took 4 days to cover a stretch and up to 5000 ships passed the canal every year. At the time it was a technical masterpiece of which little is now left.
I scratch Kiel's back and also the curve and drive through a very nice green corridor, now on the Baltic Sea Cycle Path. From Strande, however, the path loses all charm and now runs along a busy road. At Stohl I drive to the edge of the cliff and resist the impulse to continue on the coastline. Should be very nice, but actually that's probably forbidden. So I just take a short break and return to my joyless main street. In Surendorf I fill up my water supplies and buy an amazingly enjoyable Starbucks Cappucino 😎. My break planning is miserable 😞. I drove past various cafés and had something to complain about at all of them ... that's what I get from it 😂. Shortly after Schnellmark the path turns into a beautiful forest passage, a short time later I drive into Eckernförde and cycle past the traffic jam leading into town. I already know Eckernförde and leave it out this time. On Noorstrasse, a right turn turns red and misses me by a hair's breadth 😱. I am happy to be able to leave Eckernföör and am now on the Noor Tour. This shows how quickly a path can change from "to break" into "dreamlike". The last 8 km to Missunde is really nice again. Hilly, green with beautiful views over Noore, Schlei and the terrain.
Except for the endless street passages, it was pretty interesting today and of course also exhausting. All in all, a nice day on the bike ... 😍
