Dear fellow hikers,You are great! The last weekend showed how beautiful our country can be and how great the interest is in such an XXL hike through the whole country. Thank you all for your sometimes multiple hikes for this relay hike. More than 2,700 km have already come together. Each of you has made your very own (!) Contribution. One has covered a lot of kilometers, the other swam through a lake or the stage number was simply integrated into the recording.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
At this point I would like to thank you again
      Andreas (komoot.de/user/133735014332?ref=amk),
      Christoph (komoot.de/user/monacotrail?ref=amk),

      Thomas (komoot.de/user/583434682771?ref=amk)
      thank you.
Half a year ago, Frank and I were of the opinion that we couldn't manage such an action and that komoot had to actively support / take action ourselves. Now we have together proven the opposite.
Unfortunately, even before the storm hit, it was already foreseeable that we would not be able to hike all 159 stages in 3 days. This is not least due to the fact that the advertising for this event only ran through us as organizers (and of course through you!). But well, what we did on our own is great.---komoot.de/collection/1243055/-mitwandern-2021-an-3-tagen-gemeinsam-durch-deutschland---komoot.de/invite-tour/426933856?code=dsk5qo-PxJx0znLEOAlHiHj5najX_eTWPHzCQ7jWg6XgjZQSoQ

Sunday, July 18th, 2021 / time in motion: 6h: 45m / total time: 8h: 32m / distance: 35 km / average speed: 5.2 km / h*******Today I hiked stage E050 of the project "MitWandern 2021 - 3 days together through Germany". This is the Cottbus - Spremberg stage, which I covered in reverse. At the same time, this route is stage 11 of my Spree project, which was broken in 2019.After this stage was postponed from yesterday to today due to the weather, I had to hike it alone today, which was probably better in retrospect. After almost 4 hours of traveling from Berlin Zoologischer Garten station by train via Frankfurt (Oder) to Cottbus and from there with the rail replacement service to Spremberg, I was only able to start this tour much too late at 10:13 a.m. at Spremberg station.First it goes to the Georgenberg, where the Georgenbergfriedhof of the city was inaugurated in 1828. In 1970 it was redesigned as a city park. There are still numerous grave sites here, as well as the Soviet and German cemeteries of honor. There is also a memorial to all those who died in the World War, the OdF memorial and the Spremberg Bismarck tower. Then it goes over the 'sky ladder' from the mountain down to the swan pond, then on to the castle and through the city center, which is located on an island on the Spree. After a short flying visit to Spremberg's city center, it goes to the Spree and here first to the Wilhelmsthal old arm, which shortly afterwards connects with the main Spree. At the height of the island of love I discover the information board 'Spremberger Stadtbahn'. The former route is now a cycle path.I follow the course of the Spree in a northerly direction, pass the reservoir basin of the Spremberger dam and follow the cycle path diversion gradually through Sellessen. The cycle path is left behind the village. It goes on a beaten path through the forest, above the Spree and along the reservoir. Shortly before the White Mountain, the path reconnects with the bike path.I discover a headland. Here you can also go down to the water. On the opposite side it is very refreshing due to the wind. Here, however, you have to be careful not to fall because of the hollowed-out soil. Continuing on the bike path, I cross the Spree-Camp Bagenz. The beer garden invites you to linger, but I persevere. Now it goes on a dike through the blazing sun and in the end I am at almost the northernmost point of the reservoir. I take a longer rest in a refuge. But in the end I don't have the time for that.On the bike path through the forest it goes through Bräsinchen, then the Spree is crossed and it is followed close to the bank on a meadow path to the height of Neuhausen. The visit to the place is canceled due to time constraints. It goes on a private property again spreenah through the forest, then along a huge pasture area with an electric fence, through partly tall grass and tall nettles to the next Spree bridge. I didn't like this section that much. It is another 10 km to Cottbus main station and I increase the pace. After crossing under a railway bridge, I reach the Cottbus entrance sign a little later, the Gallinchen settlement is crossed, then the Kutzeburg mill with the Mühlgraben is reached. There is a restaurant and a riding and leisure center here. I follow the Spree to the motorway bridge (A15). From here it goes back to the level of the Madlower Martinskirche along the Mühlgraben. This is followed by the Madlower bathing lake, the Spreebrücke, the Millennium Bridge, the Kiekebusch Spreewehr and the Markgrafenmühle. Up to Parzellenstraße it goes one last time along the Spree, over the above-mentioned street it goes to the city ring and on this then to Cottbus main station, the end of this tour. From here there is a 2h: 40m long journey back via Frankfurt (Oder) with the desired train.Even if it was mostly a stressful tour and the last 10 km was more of a rush, the majority of the route runs on bike paths, I really liked the route (except for the above-mentioned section) and the landscape. With a normal and direct approach, I would like to repeat the tour again. Finally, I would like to thank Jan Verbüelte for this great idea of the Germany season, and of course Frank Meyer, who had the original idea of the komoot season, and thank the entire organization team for the effort and work!

Saturday, June 12th, 2021 / time in motion: 12m / total time: 13m*******After we got back from our round trip to Swinoujscie
komoot.de/tour/392237949 were back in Kamminke, I stopped the recording. Then I take this walk with Mandy through the village to the harbor, where we meet Mandy's boys who drove to the harbor by car. Since Mandy was already here before, she can show and explain a lot to me on the way. Thanks a lot for this!
At the harbor we have one last soft drink at the Kamminke fish smokehouse before we start our journey home and this beautiful day trip ends.Due to a paid evening event that takes place here on weekends, we could not sit and unfortunately had to, in the truest sense of the word, stand in the rain and drink. But we were glad we got drinks. The first photo was taken while driving back from the car.

Saturday, June 12th, 2021 / time in motion: 4h: 43m / total time: 8h: 34m / distance: 21.24 km / average speed: 4.5 km / h*******On the eve of this tour I received a call from Mandy, who asked me if I had already planned something for Saturday and if not, if I would accompany her on the tour with her husband (Stephan) and her youngest son (Till). Since I last saw her in mid-December 2020 and already had withdrawal symptoms, I immediately agreed. We met on Saturday morning at around 6 a.m. in Ludwigsfelde and drove together by car to the island of Usedom, to Kamminke. We start our circular hike on the mountain road in Kamminke, first through the village. Here I still spray myself with anti-mosquito spray and, as it turns out a little later, not in vain.At the foot of the Golm, on which the Golm war grave and memorial is also located, we went through a forest in which swarms of mosquitoes were already waiting for fresh meat.
After crossing the stickleback ditch, we meet the B110 and from here we have a beautiful view of the NSG Zerninsee-Senke. On the B110 we reach the Torfgraben and thus the border between Germany and Poland. Here we also reach the urban area of Swinoujscie. We follow the Grunwaldzka street to the city center. We stop at Café Costa on Freedom Square because Mandy and Till are hungry for a piece of cake.
We continue to the port of Swinoujscie. Here we pass the ferry port, the military port and the marina. This is followed by Fort Engelsburg, the frame structure of the Swinoujscie Fortress and the West Fort.We now reach the 'Prochownia' restaurant. All the tables outside are occupied, but we're lucky because a woman alone at one table is paying. Unfortunately we are waiting longer than expected for our ordered lunch, but as compensation it was delicious. A recommendable restaurant. Just before we leave, it starts to rain, but we have a large parasol over our table and we stay dry.We continue our way to the Four Winds beach, which leads to the east breakwater. Here I get my feet and shoes wet (which were quickly dry again) because the wind repeatedly lashes the sea on the narrow breakwater. Always straight ahead we come to the Mühlenbake on the west pier, the landmark of Swinoujscie. After some photos we get to the beach of Swinoujscie, where Till jumps into the water and we watch kite surfers. In front of the hotels of two large luxury hotel chains, we leave the beach and follow a piece of the promenade, where we feast a bit. Then we follow the road that leads through the spa gardens back to the city center and on the Grunwaldzka back towards Germany. The way back, however, is via the Paprotno district. At the end of the bus stop 'Wydrzany - pętla' we turn towards the border, cross the peat ditch over the border bridge and through the village reach the mountain road in Kamminke and thus the destination of this beautiful and interesting hike. Many thanks to Mandy for the invitation and the guided tour through Kamminke and Swinoujscie and to Stephan for the trip! :-)

Since the route I planned contained too many parts of the road that he did not want to hike with his dog 'Rich' (the dog chases cars), we spontaneously decided to take this route to the outskirts of Pätz. On the way, the dog can cool off in the Pätzer Hintersee. On the beaten path along the Pätzer Hintersee, I'm happy to have sprayed myself with mosquito repellent at home. The way back is east along the Pätzer gravel pit, which we do not get to see.Back on the way there, we make a detour to the Großer Karbuschsee, where my companion and dog cool off. Then it goes through the town of Groß Köris to the train station, where our tour ends and we say goodbye to each other.
