Cycling the Netherlands

On a mission to discover Tristan's home country, The Netherlands, we are embarking on short bikes whenever we are visiting. Like most people, it's hard to believe that our own countries are exciting (and this could be especially true for the dutch), but the trick is to find out what makes every place charming. There's no mountains in the Netherlands, but I personally find very fascinating what they do with the water. The country is full of canals, contained by dikes and its a piece of wonderful engineering on itself. Gravel, adventurous paths are hard to find but... Wow, you'll never be able to pedal on a bike infrastructure like this one anywhere else in the world. Chances are you won't have to share the way with other motorised vehicles for most of the time either. Crazy, right?So, in this collection I want to share the Netherlands through our own experience and point of view. Perhaps our recommendation would be... Avoid the dutch winter! And one more thing: Fries for lunch every day is a thing!
