from Porto to Santiago

For my first multiday bike journey I chose the iconic Santiago’s Path through the Portuguese and Spanish coast. The route is pretty much already set, starting from Porto with the end goal of arriving to Santiagos Cathedral. There is a nice system of bike paths, national roads, hiking and trekking paths that make this connection 99% doable by bike. Only crossing the river boarder between countries I had to take a small boat.
There is a huge versatility of landscape, from riding on wood boardwalks on Portuguese sandy beaches, goat paths on the rocky beaches of the Spanish coast, amazing gravel paths trough dense woods, beautiful historical city crossings, dirt roads with inland hiking routes in deep Galician mountain forests.
It’s definitely an experience I would recommend.
