At the end of the tour again a trip on the Way of St. James, the monastery of San Juan de la Peña. By chance, encountered a great bike course.

Today Pyrenees tour final spurt. Actually, was still thinking of an overnight stay in Laruns, after the Col d'Aubisque, but already at noon I was driving on. The Cirque de Gavarnie seems to be for hikers and pilgrims what the Col du Tourmalet is for the cyclists. Some are hired by bus, others are on the Way of St. James and today they are going over to Spain.

So today the big tourmalet. It starts well: it is sunny, and you can see it in the morning.



To warm up, go up to the Col d'Aspin. You can also do that as a day trip, like my breakfast companion from Siegburg. But we want to continue. At 11:00 I'm up, up there - nothing at all. Do not stop yourself too… Leer más

Actually it should only be at least 1 summit, La Bonaigua de Baix, and then to Bossost. There I was already at lunchtime, and one really does not want to stay there any longer, a pretty ugly border town.
