The Trans-Mexico bkepacking route was designed by Mark and Hanna. It is not a pure off-road route but it tries to cross Mexico's most culturally and geographically interesting regions from north to south. The route starts in the subtropical coast of Mazatlán, climbs to the arid altiplano of the Sierra Madre, crosses cities, small villages, and a diverse range of landscapes all the way to the border of Guatemala. Due to the current situation in Mexico, we will modify some sections to keep it as safe as possible. Also, some of the rides in this collection won't follow the original route because priorities concerning sights and places we want to see might be different from the original track. In fact, we decided to climb the highest volcanoes in Mexico so the route goes through Nevado de Toluca, Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl, Malinche and Pico de Orizaba. In this route, we try to make the most of mainland Mexico and for sure it is a unique experience on two wheels. You can find more information about this route in bikepacking.com/routes/trans-mexico-norte and also in bikepacking.com/routes/trans-mexico-south
