The region of East Belgium may be relatively small, but it offers you the chance to get close to a huge variety of nature. You can discover rugged moors, rushing wild rivers, great viewpoints and blooming meadows on your hikes at the cultural and linguistic intersection of Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. In this Collection, we introduce you to seven particularly beautiful walks that show you the beauty of eastern Belgium’s landscape. The hikes vary in length and difficulty, but they all have one thing in common: they let you immerse yourself in nature.
The hiking trails in the region are well signposted. If you feel like a bigger challenge, then you can extend the two stages on the long-distance trails GR 573 and GR 56. Malmedy is the ideal place to base yourself to explore East Belgium. The town is centrally located between the starting points of the hikes and has a special charm in the summer when the streets are full of colorful flowers. The other cities in the region may also surprise you with their unique charm, adding to the region’s special diversity.
